The Pollojack Bar and Grill is one of the best places we have ever visited. Not only were the staff lovely and happy to get you anything you wanted, you could also see the chef cooking the food in an open setting so you knew that the food was fresh. Would highly recommend the sharing platter the halloumi fries and the prawns in particular were delicious. Well worth a visit.

A short and pleasant stay in Bakewell and this was the best meal we had. Not an extensive menu but a good selection. My choice of the lamb main course was superb. A very pleasant atmosphere in a roomy restaurant - which is a surprise after seeing the small frontage. Not cheap, but good value considering the quality of the food, and good service. Strongly recommended.

Went for lunch today after reading what others had thought and was less than an hours drive. Firstly the good points: food was great , service was friendly and attentive , has been decorated to a good standard so was pleasant to sit in and eat. Now what I would call minor negatives: the portion sizes are way to big , reduce the price by a pound or two and serve a normal sized plate of food then there wouldn't be so much waste , we left feeling was lovely food but far too much for one to eat and we sent back between us a good plate sized amount of food, the only other minor negative was the onion rings , instead of making them the size of donuts and undercooked make them edible sized and cooked right through... these negatives are our opinion and wouldn't want to put anyone off going to the Gate Inn. We will be back and will try something else of your substantial menu (maybe even the childrens portions) .. Many Thanks !!

Visited this morning and was warmly welcomed by Tracy. We all ordered full English breakfast and nothing was too much trouble and she created a lovely atmosphere. All our individual tweaks to our orders were taken care of and the breakfasts were nicely presents, delicious, plentiful and we could not rate this place enough. Would definately visit again and recommend all our friends. All food cooked to order.Thankyou for the amazing review, it was a pleasure to look after you all yesterday morning.I hope that you will get to visit us again one day, when your back in the area. My aunt and I went on a Thursday evening. Unfortunately it was empty at 8pm. However we decided to take a chance and had pizza. The service was lovely and friendly. About 8-30 a table of 5 came in so it felt a bit better . Pizza delicious.Would definitely go again.
