Visited this morning and was warmly welcomed by Tracy. We all ordered full English breakfast and nothing was too much trouble and she created a lovely atmosphere. All our individual tweaks to our orders were taken care of and the breakfasts were nicely presents, delicious, plentiful and we could not rate this place enough. Would definately visit again and recommend all our friends. All food cooked to order.Thankyou for the amazing review, it was a pleasure to look after you all yesterday morning.I hope that you will get to visit us again one day, when your back in the area. Many thanks Tracy & Paul Miller.

late friday afternoon, saw the 2 for £10 cocktails, just popped in for a drink, out of the rain, before meeting friends for a meal - greeted by a very drunk guy sitting at the bar (there were only 5-6 people in there, all male, on separate tables) - who made some joke about ladies upstairs and guys downstairs .... bad reflection on the establishment and the owners - we walked straight out and drank elsewhere

The Remarkable Hare is under new management, we are in the process of finalising our menu's and are very excited to meet all of our customers new and existing.
Visited this pub twice during our weekend in Matlock. We took our puppy for his first lunchtime pub visit. The staff were so welcoming and have him a fuss. We got a table with lots of space and our son loved the games provided. The food was lovely, especially the cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips. We would definitely go here again. Iâd done lots of research before our weekend away re dog friendly places. This was definitely the best. The other places we went to allowed dogs in but we didnât feel as welcome. The Sunday lunch musician was a nice touch too.

We make classic British food. All the locals eat here, which tells you a lot.
Stayed for a couple of nights and had a pleasant stay with friends. Room was adequate but bathroom in room four was on the small side. Eat in one nice and we all had decent meals. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Range of beers in the bar was first class too.Hi CamspigTanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the stay. I'm glad you bought up room 4 bathroom size, because it's being upgraded this very month. But otherwise I'm sure it would ha e been a 5 star/bubble experience.RegardsLee

15Th Century country inn, grade 2 listed, private ownership and resident chef/owner since 1990. Range of local beers, extensive wine list. Award winning kitchen under personal supervision of owner. Situated in the centre of an historic conservation villag
Made a reservation for a Saturday night fortunately, it was rammed. Good choice of beers and wine as well as a comprehensive menu. Food quality was good and service friendly. Certainly return. Thanks Molenders. Your recommendation that bookings ahead are made is a valid one, and we do accept bookings which help us with our planning. Recently we have had a few "no-shows" which are frustrating - not only for us but also for hopeful diners who were turned away on the night. We may have to introduce a policy of only keeping a table for a few minutes after the agreed time. Marilyn suggests that there should be a website where we can register no- shows so others will know of their conduct. A recent article in the trade paper claimed that a majority of 25 to 35yr olds admitted booking more than one venue so they had a choice on the night, but didn't think it was wrong!Luckily it doesn't happen too often, if it becomes a real problem we will have to take deposits from those not known to us as some London restaurants already do. If last minute hitches occur we always appreciate a phone call to just let us know.Thank you for your review, and we look forward to your next visit, many thanks, best wishesDavid, Marilyn and Staff

We are a small pub, with a strong focus on real ale. We serve lunch Tuesday to Friday (12 Noon - 1.30Pm). We have a pie night every Wednesday (6pm - 8.00Pm) and we serve roast dinners on a Sunday (5pm - 6.30Pm). However, we don't serve food on any other e
What a fantastic little pub. We had some lunch there the other day and it was beautifully presented, with pleasant/friendly staff. The chips were delicious and so was the ham oatcake. We had the small portions, which was plenty big enough!!! I will certainly go there again and I will recommend it to anyone who likes quaint older pubs. The locals were friendly as well.

Best real ale selection in Matlock, and tasty bar snacks and meals.
Passed by this pub and decided to stop in for lunch. Neither of us were disappointed. Both went for Homemade pie with peas, mash and gravy and were very impressed. Staff very accommodating and welcoming :-)

A proper pub with real atmosphere and clearly loved by the locals and many others, always a good sign - and a real fire! Lounge bar traditional, with separate linked restaurant. Simple and effective, friendly staff and super food - we lucked out by walking in and discovering it was âSteak Wednesdayâ. Donât know how they do that quality and quantity of good food for the price - x2 8oz sirloin dinners a drink each and bottle of wine £38. Definitely recommend for a good authentic evening either to eat or a quick pint by the fire. Thank you

Old fashioned English pub and community hub. Serving well kept cask-conditioned real ale that has an excellent reputation both locally and visitors, because the landlord knows how to keep beer correctly. Serves good quality, home made food at lunch and in
We had a great meal here, the food was delicious, my fave was the breaded Brie wedges with salad and sweet potato fries, my daughter had the homemade steak pie with chips, peas and gravy, very tasty. They serve a very tasty rhubarb cider which is delicious. If you like good food, visit the Sycamore Inn.

Great village pub with an awesome selection of drinks. There's a brewery on site plus local craft ales and ciders, any spirits you could wish for, great food and amazing hosts. All the food is locally sourced and cooked with love. Bands on every Friday and Saturday, what's not to like?
