I was at Parangi for three days with my friends. We were here for three days. Parangi is a beautiful cozy villa with a stunning view of its pool and the beach. I was in love with its interior. We booked the quadruple room and the double room with the sea view. The quadruple room was quite big and spacious. Even the bathroom was very spacious and have been designed properly in a way that it won't get wet other than the bathing cubicle. The room had a 59" TV which really added a value to the room. The two single beds in the quadruple room was in a partitioned area with more privacy is really a good concept. When you book the 2 rooms with the sea view you will get more privacy with easy access to the lobby, dinning areas, pool and the beach. The place was super clean including their pool. The pool was quite big and deep enough for a good swim. The beach was right in front of the villa and a perfect place for a sea bath. The service was also good. Indunil from the staff was the only person who was always with a smile and with a good sense of hotel staff etiquette. He made sure we were having a comfortable and relaxing stay and we felt homely thanks to him. His service was almost equal to a 5 star hotel. We ordered rice and curry for the first day lunch and it was exceeding our expectation. There was a big range of curries and the food was so lovely. Sadly every other meal except the said lunch was not good at all. Chef was very demanding and not flexible at all when it comes to ordering food. We were not given a menu and asked to request the food we like for all 3 meals but chef was always reluctant to make the food we asked saying it's hard to find ingredients like fish, prawns and cuttlefish which surprised us as this was in Weligama. Even though we were on FB, we had to pay LKR 1800 extra for a BBQ dinner and it was such a disappointment. True that it was raining in the evening and we ordered a late dinner around 9.30pm. It was not raining at all after 7.30pm but chef didn't put an effort at all to set up the BBQ station. Instead he served us a half baked chicken poured with some BBQ sauce which doesn't fit the standard of theme resorts at all. What surprised us more is all 5 of us got bad tummy, a skin irritation and sick after that so called BBQ dinner. So food was the only negative side of our stay at Parangi. This place allows BYOB. Rest of the staff other than the chef was good and supportive. No matter how much we loved the place, we will surely not visit this place again just because of the food as we don't want to be sick after a good holiday.

The nicest and attentive lady we have been hosted by. We stayed in a room that had access to a kitchen, the fridge is so nice to have when it's hot and luckily the wall fan assured we slept well. Didn't even hear much of the traffic from the main street as it's tucked away up a lane. Did I mention the cutest resident Labrador dog!

For any solo traveler/surfer or couple who want peace and quiet and the feeling of having a Sri Lankan home, this is the place to go. Mallika and her husband go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. She can make breakfast and dinner and its sooo good. Its five minutes to the beach and lazy left/right surf spots. The buses are 1 min walk away to go to Weligama or Ahanghama. Its so easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend staying there.

We were only here for one night, but loved our time in the top floor Island Suite - super light and spacious, cute design, and with a big balcony that looks over the beach. The best part for us though was the cafe downstairs - AMAZING coffee (just how we like it in Melbourne!) and great food. The bar/restaurant upstairs (open from 5pm) was excellent as well (the veggie burger and 50,000 mini fried potatoes was a highlight for me!). Definitely recommend.

There can be little doubt that Weligama has one of the most beautiful bays in the entire world. The crescent shaped bay features the amazing island home of Count de Mauny (Taprobane) with tiny islets and rocks popping out of the crystal blue waters. Elephant Stables Weligama Bay is a mini boutique hotel that consists of 4 rooms and suites that occupies a prime location on the beachfront with outstanding views over the Indian Ocean. The hotel features a collection of 4 beautifully furnished rooms and suites that are named after Sri Lankan fruits with spacious designer bathrooms. These are located on the first floor (Deluxe Ocean View Rooms) or the garden (Deluxe Garden Rooms).
Very friendly, warm and welcoming. The staff, in particular Shameeth and Bandar are serious assets and are always on board to help with anything you might inquire about. Very well located and clean. Nthe only negative is the air-conditioning in the dragonfruit room was sub par. Outside of that 5 thumbs up

We are a small, family run guest house in the heart of Midigama a few short steps from Coconuts surf break. We have 3 fully equipped ensuite rooms, with wifi, tv and lounge area with fridge to store food and drink. We also offer surf board and scooter hire and can help with any travel enquiries/taxis etc.
Prasanga, the host of easy stay was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating to any questions we had about the area and things we needed. I would highly recommend staying with him at easy lodge! The room was clean, the shower was very nice, and the fan kept the room nice and cool.

We came here by recommendation of some others because we wanted to see the river. Great hospitality and really welcoming. Made us feel like home. The guy who owns the place is super nice. Told us to sit down, relax and brought coffee for us. Amazing place.

The beach was close to the guesthouse and it was pretty nice, personally I think the most beautiful one we visited during our stays in the south part of the country. There were almost just locals in the beach whom where very friendly with us. The host family was very friendly, smiling and helpful. The pictures are very well prepared, how the house and room looked like, but they are not even close to the reality. The room was full with ants they bited me and went into our bags. In the first 5 days we have no hot water, after they repared something and we could use moderatly warm water. We had to ask after 5 days to change the bed linen, and we find for ourselves cleaning tools because in the bathroom the water stayed on the floor all time after showering. The biggest problem was the smallest kid, she was crying and screaming constantly from 6.50 am to 11.30 pm. Unfortunatelly the owners did not speak English well, so we had no chance to explain them. We stayed there for 11 nights and the breakfast was almost every day the same. We got every morning 1 egg and tons of bread per person with butter, jam and some fruits. It was a luck that we rented a car, otherwise it is hard to go to the Mirissan area where most of the restaurants are. I imagined a more pleasant stay for our honeymoon. The beach was close to the house but it was different to get there the first times and because if the big wawes we could not swim in the first days.
