Visited Saturday evening for early dinner. Beer selections were average. We skipped the appetizers and loved the entrees. I had a pasta dish with shrimp and crawfish that was excellent. My wife loved the crab cakes. We'll go back again if we're in the area.

I have eaten from this place a dozen times over the years. It is about 10 minutes from our weekend home. Everything I have had is good food. Even when it is take-out and eaten back at the river house. Portion size is very large.
We stopped in EARLY before heading to Pearland/Houston to make it back to our local church. The breakfast was awesome and the one lady running the place cooked our food to order. Probably the biggest pancakes I have ever seen. We left food on our plates we were so full and satisfied...kind of carbed out, if you know what I mean.
There is a convenient store next door as well if you are headed to the beach or back home...not a huge selection but will get you through.

This restaurant is right over the levee and in the harbor itself and next to the Inter-coastal Waterway. The view is cool because it overlooks the harbor boats and the big bridge to the beach. (it used to be a small swing bridge that you had to wait for when barges or boats went through the canal.)
The food is always good whether you get the hamburger or the expensive fried/broiled flounder. But not gourmet. (the flounder will be memorable and delicious). We always give my young son a hard time because his grandfather always let him order the most expensive thing on the menu, flounder. Don't get filled up on the homemade bread they bring out, portion size of the meals is pretty good...you will not leave hungry. There is a decent kids menu for smaller portions and the picky eater. It gets fairly busy so pick your dining time wisely especially if you travel to Matagorda just for dinner. The wait staff is almost always friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself is nothing special...just fun to "eat at the harbor" as my kids and other family members will say.
Even if you aren't next to the window you still have a good view.
There is a ramp up to the restaurant if you can't do the stairs.
The harbor itself is also a great place for photographs if you are interested in cool portraits with the boats in the background. And don't forget to stop at the Welcome sign for pictures as well as check out the cemetery. It has some pretty awesome historical markers and "Texans" buried there!
I believe they are now renting out the bottom floor/rooms for overnight guests.
Check open times before you go as well, I think they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and they do not stay open late.

We stopped here, mainly because it was on the way. The reviews weren't great but we figured we'd give it a try. We were, mostly, pleasantly surprised. We had 6 adults and 5 kids in our party and the waitress did a good job.
The food was great. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was fantastic. The burger was good, and the couple of people in our party who got seafood said it was great as well.
The atmosphere is typical small town dive bar. Nothing fancy. We sat on the deck because we had a dog and the waitress even brought the dog some water.
My one complaint is the draft beer wasn't super cold. I don't know if they were having cooler problems or what. We had 3 different draft beers (so it wasn't just 1 new keg) ordered in the first round and none were ice cold.
I would definitely stop in again.

Excellent Shrimp and seafood of all kinds! Great open atmosphere! Good for large parties and excellent service! Great Oysters, but I can't get used to having them not on the half shell but already shucked! Fishermen and beach bums will fit right in!

We eat at Poco at least once a week. Everything on the menu is good. Some of our favorites are the Seafood Enchiladas, Snapper Poco, Stuffed Shrimp and Cajun Pasta. Portions are very large.
