We consistently enjoy coming to the Richmond Bakery for delicious homemade tamales on Saturday mornings. This hidden gem has an old-fashioned "lunch counter" and serves up terrific home-style Salvadoran breakfast specials at very reasonable prices.

We enjoyed our breakfast here, tho everything we ordered was slathered in lots of butter. Delicious sausage and ham. Friendly staff, good service. Cash only.

Homemade and local comfort food in the Berkshires! Chef owned, and operated. Wide range of local sodas.
When you try a place for the first time, the place usually doesn't get a second chance to make a good first impression. Granted Freddie's Place is small and if you are going there (a) be forewarned (b) get there before the rush or (c) place an order for pick up.Anyway. Went there with a friend to have lunch. While she enjoyed hers, I had to wait until I got back to the office to find out whether or not I was going to like the food. I seem to have been forgotten. Now in most cases, things like that happen and given the right play, it is just one of those things.Unfortunately for me the right play didn't happen. Like I said this is a small place and as my friend ate, we could hear the people in the kitchen area arguing about my burger (that is what I ordered, nothing difficult, nothing special). Seems it didn't make it to the grill. People who had come in after I did were enjoying their meals and I was waiting. The waitress came to the table and said they were making it. I looked at my watch and asked for it to go. The issue came as we were getting ready to go. There was no table side apology. No cashier side apology. There have been times when something like this happens, the waitress or the manager will offer another apology as well as a slight discount. Nope, none of that happened. What we did get was a complaint that the waitress was doing the work of four people (four more people would not have fit in the kitchen, nor would the clients needed to have reason for four more staff have fit in the restaurant). Like I said before these things happen. As we were waiting for my food, two police officers who had eaten and were leaving, we told, now if I can get you guys to pay. They assured her they had paid, but she wasn't buying it at first. When they said a second time they paid, she said you did, sorry. It wasn't sincere but more than I got. So in the grand scheme of things, I will scratch this place off my list of places to go. I have others on the list for a variety of reasons. Sometimes I remember why I don't go there (The Pub, North Adams, poor treatment) and others I don't. I know they won't care one way or the other. They won't even notice. Which is too bad! Because there may be others out there. The food wasn't bad, but I don't want to be someplace that would take the time for some courtesy.I am truly sorry about your experience with us please give us another try ....we have changed in a few areas that you have mentioned...give us another try....we will not disappoint you.

Other than the decor, the 50's, the restaurant is average. My wife and I went for breakfast. I had blueberry pancakes, average, I had much better at Denny's, my wife had scrambled eggs... They were dry. Service was slow and we went midweek. Prices are okay. Tried this place because our favorite place was closed for vacation. We won't be back.

Sausage in the biscuit was a bit dry. Eggs ok. Corned beef hash looked canned. We sat at the counter which is where the staff stage the cutlery. Napkins laid out along with forks, spoon, etc. One guy did it holding the eating surface of each utensil. Yuck. Another did it properly holding the handles. I asked the second guy to tell the one using the incorrect process to do it properly. He nodded and did nothing. I won't be going back.

Flo's has an enlightened menu. Food items reflect modern tastes and offerings, and prices are reasonable ( not cheap). We had the challah French toast with real maple syrup and eggs Florentine. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. So what's the mismatch? I like quirky diner decor, but Flo's would do well to toss all the dusty faded hanging baskets of plastic greenery in the dumpster. These are tired, and decidedly unappetizing. I love the chickens. That theme makes sense. But dead fake plants aren't enhancing. Likewise, their restroom needs some refreshing. If anyone was to read all my reviews, it would be apparent that I usually give 5* to aged dives, but somehow it doesn't work here with the thoughtful menu and skillful presentation coupled with sad surroundings.

Breakfast, lunch, & dinner made from scratch, and with love, seven days a week! We try to mix Southern comfort with New England flair to make those delicious home cooked meals you may remember from when you were a kid. Ridiculously bad-for-you French toas
We visited this restaurant last year about the same time of year and had a dismal experience but our daughter encouraged us to try again. We arrived mid morning on a Monday and were happy to be seated immediately and NOT near the hot kitchen.A server came over with menus and took drink orders- 3 coffees and 1 tea. I was brought a limited selection of teas but none that I liked so I asked for plain black tea or English breakfast. Our server came back with a loose teabag and just plopped it on the table - sorry ewwwwâ maybe put it in a pot of boiling water or even on a plate rather than scrunched in her hand! Fortunately I always have tea bags with me and ran out to my car and got oneThe server took our order and it arrived pretty quickly. My oatmeal with apples was a little al dente and very thick. I asked for some milk and that took a long time to arrive. Everyone else enjoyed their omelets and grits. This was much better than our first visit but still had its issues - too many other great places to try!But definitely go on a week day and mid morning!

I have visited Thrive on several occasions. It is a small, old fashioned diner that the new owner has transformed into a small, old fashioned diner with delicious vegan food - or quite frankly - really good food. I would recommend this place to vegans and people with special dietary needs and people who just want to have something delicious for lunch or dinner. My favorites so far are the mediterranean appetizer and the deserts. I have had four different deserts and they are all incredibly yummy. It is a happy place that I recommend to couples, singles and families. They do take-out and it is very easy and quick. The owner/chef is a super-woman who does it all. She is an inspiring and kind soul who wants to feed people food that is delicious and good for you. Thank you, Shari!!
