It is a beautiful restaurant in a very cool part of town. Normally we love tapas but they dropped the ball. The flavors overall were good but the service was terrible. They were extremely slow and haphazardly brought out our dishes. I wouldn’t recommend.

Mi Tierra

Delicious and affordable food. Small family-run restaurant. Not fancy. This is an unusual Salvadoran restaurant in that food without meat is available for vegetarians, and the food is good. I prefer the plate with two guacamole tostadas, rice, beans and plantain. Hell, even the rice tastes good! Friends have tried the pupusas, the camarones enchiladas and the carne adobada y chile relleno and then declared themselves fans of Mi Tierra. The lady who waits tables is very nice.

Don't go for the décor or the setting but go for the food and drink. We have always received very good service and good food. Casual and relaxing, nothing fancy, but very good. Delicious chips with salsa and guacamole is a good way to start. They have a sampler platter of appetizers that makes a meal for 2. They have a large selection of Mexican and Guatemalan entrée dishes to enjoy.

My wife and I went with two other couples for dinner. We shared several of the vegetarian and non-vegetarian tapas. We loved the squash fritters, the guacamole Cubano, the jibarito, the chickens & ham croquettes, the maduros wrapped in bacon, and the empanadas. The tacos and the Spanish frittata were fine but not great. We did not care for the crispy pork belly. Drinks from the bar were delicious. You must have a mojito when you go. For dessert we had the crepes and the churro. Both were delicious. The Waltham location is quite loud, and we had trouble hearing each other and the server. The atmosphere is nice. Go for the food! We will be back!
