We moved to the North Shore a couple of years ago and I've been looking for good Chinese food ever since. My wife and I stopped by chance at the China Wok in Newburyport yesterday for a quick dinner while we were out driving around. This is a very small restaurant with only a handful of tables. It's located in a strip mall. Our expectations were pretty low. While our spring rolls were not special, both our meals were excellent. Very fresh and tasty ingredients, large portions and very reasonable prices. We were impressed. Too bad it's a 20 minute drive from our home. But I just might be making that drive in the future.
they have a wide varity of different foods to choose from and the flavor is wonderful, prices are good and its clean and they refill the buffet often
Poor service low qualityHeard they are closing. I can see why place only had customers in the bar dining room was empty

I love Chinese food and could not wait to tuck in but was very disappointed by the standard of the food. Not well flavored and in desperate need of updating their decor. Super fast service and ample of parking. I hope the quality will improve!!

I have have eaten at this restaurant several times. Called them today. No delivery and no daily specials. Oh well well take my business elsewhere. I understand a busy day for them but to put me on hold for fifteen minutes does not fly with me. Spend my money elsewhere which I did do today. very disappointed.
We were only staying nearby for one night and wanted to grab some Chinese food to go. There were several Chinese Take-outs in the area and we picked China Star... good choice! We only had a couple of things (fine rice noodles with beef and won ton soup) but they were both very good (there was a huge piece of pork in the soup and we'd have rather had less meat and another won ton). I'd go back if in the area again.

The tuna tataki was very good as was the yellowtail sashimi. A spicy scallop dish was not spicy and it contained a great deal of filler. If I am in the area again, I would return to try the Chinese food, which looked good, or to try the sushi. The waitress was helpful in spite of not fully understanding some questions.
