Things to do in Beverly
Lolo Poke reminds me of the late great Tra Vigne in the wine country of California. Why? The freshness of every ingredient. The fish is crazy fresh (if you don't know, poke is like deconstructed sushi). But so are the add-ons: cucumber, avocado, shredded carrot, seaweed, scallions: all just amazingly fresh (there are even rumors that a co-owner personally dived to retrieve the seaweed). Sauces are delightful but don't overwhelm the food, which is important when serving a dish in which each element deserves equal time onstage. Topped with a bit of crunch and a little caviar, my Lolo Bowl featured lightly peppered shrimp and half a perfect avocado. My husband's Bomba Bowl was a little spicy and a lot delicious. This is a takeout place, I saw no tables inside the narrow storefront. I drove my bowl 15 miles home before I could eat it. I'm told that there's a brewery in Beverly where you can bring in food, so long as you have a beer. That would be my choice for next time.

I have been here a few times for Hibachi and the food has always been excellent. Additionally, the service and presentation were also very good. I typically order slightly more food than normal so I'll have leftovers for the next day. Well worth the visit!

I hate to leave the first 'poor' review for a restaurant, but I feel obliged to after tonight's experience. If you just order sushi here, I am sure you will have a good - or at *least* okay - experience.Unfortunately, the noodle dishes really let this restaurant down. I ordered the pork ramen and, though not very picky in general, I have to say it was the worst ramen I've ever eaten (my ramen experience ranges from store bought 25 cent ramen to good ramen at nice restaurants in Japan.) I paid extra for the pork (fine), but the resulting meal was unflavored, fatty clear broth, ramen noodles, no other seasoning or vegetables, and pork that tasted like heated up frozen breaded pork cutlets. Comparing the quality of this dish with the cost ($13.95), the value was awful.I strongly recommend the restaurant remove the ramen from its menu; it let the otherwise good meal down.Aside from this, the feel of the restaurant was pleasant enough, and the staff friendly (although the service was pretty slow when seated in a tucked away part of the sushi counter.)

Great sushi, unique selection that made me try new things! Best oysters, we had never tried them and holy wow this is the place to do it! $1 oysters from 5-6pm on weekdays, try them!!! Our waiter, Chase, was exceptional! Above and beyond to give us his recommendations and share his knowledge not just of the restaurant but the city as well! Great drinks too, you couldnât go wrong with trying any of it! Amazing fun atmosphere too! It is a must if you come visit Salem!jtisdale18,Your 5-star review qualifies you as a Grade-A rockstar! We do our best to be the spot that's got it all; sushi, oysters, drinks, a fun staff (like Chase). We also feature LIVE music and cool events. Be sure to come back soon to check out our Opus Underground!Best Wishes,Andrew CoatesAssistant General ManagerOpus

This always popular restaurant is patronized by people of all ages. Be prepared to wait for a table but the scene is so lively the time passes by very quickly. A word of caution, Wednesday is the very crowded Wing Night and the wait can be more than an hour. The staff is friendly, the service quick and the food solid.Dear P.G, Thank you so much for the compliment! Wing night is always crowded but we are very pleased to know you were met with a fast and friendly service when you arrived at your table.Best wishes, Tyler AustinAssistant General Manager Hale Street Tavern & Oyster Bar
