Full Service Family Italian Restaurant with Full Bar, Take Out, Grab and Go, Italian Deli and Marketplace, Party Trays for all occasions. Established on 1995.
My husband and I loved the casual atmosphere of Giuseppe's. You can purchase Italian staples and fresh/frozen meals in one portion of the building, there's a take-out counter in the center, and the other side is the dining. We started with garlic bread as an appetizer - not our favorite - the bread was a little too flimsy and not garlic-y enough. My husband had the lasagna which he really enjoyed and I had porcini & portabella ravioli which was delicious but had a little too much sauce in my opinion. Our favorite was actually the dessert! The hazelnut gelato was served like a little parfait and was tasty and we had some of the most amazing carrot cake we've ever tasted! Everyone was really friendly and it was obvious that it's a local favorite. We arrived early on a Friday night and thought it wouldn't be busy yet but we still had to wait just a bit, so plan ahead if you don't like to stand in line (and parking is a little tight). We thought the pricing was slightly high but after eating at other places in the area it was comparable.

Life is mostly hustle and bustle, but the rest is happiness and mouthwatering-good pizza. At least it is when you visit Oregano Pizzeria & Ristorante. Our Italian restaurant in Newburyport, MA is anything but ordinary, and you'll taste the difference in w
Hubby was in town on business, so I was on my own for lunch. I enjoyed walking up and down the streets looking at menus, and ended up here. Glad I did! Stopped in for dinner with friends, on a whim. The dining area & bar have an old house feel - not kitschy like your grandmother's "old", but colonial old. Perfect for Newburyport. The menu looked great, and our waitress offered wine suggestions, based on our dinner choices. All good!Unfortunately, the meals were fairly bland. Two of us ordered the bolognese sauce over macaroni, at the waitress' recommendation. She said it was a house specialty. It sorely needed some salt & pepper, and was fairly tasteless. Our third dining partner ordered the lasagna, and he proclaimed it among the best he's had. Go figure. So, maybe it was an off night in the kitchen? Maybe there are highs and lows? I'd give it another try, if only to sit at the cozy bar with wine & apps.

Leo's is a nice little place run by an older Italian gentleman and his wife. Their pizza has a nice crust, fresh ingredients and plenty of them, and some zest--they are not afraid of offending those who prefer mild Italian food. Their pepperoni and broccoli pizza had fresh, large florets of broccoli, not some chopped-up mash. We called in the order, which was promised in 15 minutes. When I drove the four miles across town and arrived, the order was up, as promised. Leo's is quite convenient if you are staying in the Newburyport area and just want a quick bite to eat at night. The location on the traffic circle offers easy access.

Okay so not my favorite, but it's a decent value pizza for families for sure. The red sauce is just too sweet tasting for my preference...others may love that though. Toppings are fresh and abundant ...very important. Gluten free crust is a tad bit heavy and could use some salt perhaps...slightly bland. I have enjoyed put experience and it's nice to support a family owned and operated establishment. Keep up the good effort.
