We went here for my husbands Birthday breakfast. The omelettes were superbly prepared, the asparagus with cheese was the best I've had.Homemade breads bakery fresh. Our waitress was attentive, efficient and friendly. The decor of color and the artwork adds to the ambiance of this small town restaurant.Very sorry that we missed your very lovely review until just now. We appreciate that you took the time, and we’re glad you enjoyed your experience with us. Happy belated birthday to your husband! We’re honored that you celebrated with us.Angela is definitely our secret weapon: she loves her work and makes it look easy while she keeps the dining room humming and serene at the same time. We will share your praises with her. Thanks again, and we’ll hope you’re back again soon.Chef Rob

The Crooked Tap Cafe

Reviewed By VetteRunner

While heading to Wilmington, Vermont, our (very) winding road took us through Erving, Massachusetts. We were hungry, and also getting a little annoyed by the nice lady (voice) of Google Maps. A solution was found. We would stop and eat. We knew the Crooked Tap was highly rated, and we soon found out why. We had some amazing fresh NE clam chowder for starters and really tasty deli sandwich halves. The Crooked Tap also has a nice selection of chips and crunchy faves, as well as some good cookies. Fresh popcorn is the standard complementary bar food, and there was no shortage.Service was prompt, very friendly, and helpful. The owner was our server. He's super friendly and helpful. We were greeted as if we were local friends. That's a winning touch. The omni-gender restroom is very clean and modern. The decor generally is tidy, simple, and inviting. Cleanliness is standard. The sandwiches are priced reasonably at the 7-ish dollar range, and are truly enough for two. The bread is fresh and just delightful. The meats and cheeses are certainly deli-grade and flavorful. I had the turkey and ham sandwich; it was just plain excellent.Your favorite bottled beers are likely in the case, and several good beers are on tap, including Sam Adams.Parking is adjacent and sufficient. Including a round of beer, tip and tax, for a party of two expect to pay around $20-25. I will probably never return to the Crooked Tap, only because of the distances involved. But on the other hand...

We were a party of 3 for dinner on a Friday nite. Bon Apetit is located where the former Eddie's restaurant was before. Parking can be a problem here, sometimes. The inside hasn't changed much. We had to wait 15 mins to be seated at prime time on a Fri. nite. The hostess was friendly. The menu has a little of everything and most entrees include bottomless soup + salad. You can opt for the soup+ salad alone. Prices are just a touch high for the area, but if you factor in the soup and salad, then they are ok. I had the marinated sirloin tips and they were tender, cooked as ordered and very good! It was not mentioned on the menu, but the tips were Teriyaki marinated. It wasn't a problem for me, but if you diet, that may be helpful info for you. The service was good, also. We will return here. This place should be a welcome addition for a different place to dine in the area. It's also handicapped accessible. Give them a try, recommended!!!

Twice when we've asked for delivery it was over an hour for a pizza and we live only ten minutes away. The food was good, but not worth waiting that long for delivery, Prices are fair, it's your average pizza joint, nothing out of the ordinary but located near downtown, easy to get to. Staff is polite.
