I haven't visited Red Wing diner for some time but I found that nothing has changed since my last visit. A locals favorite located near Gillette Stadium, Red Wing is known for its large portions and a varied menu. Nothing fancy but the food is very good. My wife had a cheeseburger (huge) and i ordered whole belly fried clams--delicious. Both of these meals came with french fries and cole slaw. As an appetizer, we ordered a basket of onion rings--cooked to perfection and also very good. We will definitely visit this diner again when we're in the area. Not the ritz but the food is the big draw. Our server Stephani was fun and very pleasant and efficient. Couldn't ask for more.

The menu is quite extensive with everything for breakfast (including a real Full Irish) and nice lunch choices as well. The food we had was average (which is NOT bad at all) for a "diner" type location. The service was above and beyond though and very attentive with a smile in the voice. It puts a spot like this over the top.One of our pet peeves is tea made with lukewarm water and unfortunately this place suffers from that as well. I never knock down my rating because of it because it may be hot enough for some. :-) Our sampling of the food in one visit is of course very small (Texas French Toast and pancakes), but I cannot imagine just about anything not being up to par.Give it a visit. You most likely will be glad you did.
So,times you just want an old sloppy greasy juicy cheeseburger. With lots or few toppings... 5 g's is da place. Don't think healthy. But do think good. A standard double with cheese and all the free toppings you can name. Fries will surprise, they're good too... again, a little greasy... but if you're looking for healthy.... keep going.
