My colleague and i were looking for a diner on our way to get back on the Mass Pike. We pretty much ran into this place. Glad we did. Initially walked in and was immediatly looking to leave as this place is s serious greasy spoon. Emphasis on the grease. But i must say i might have had the best Rueben i have ever had. It was huge and delicious. Melissa was in charge of everything and she nailed everything. This place also had character and characters in it. It was a well worth it. The prices are more like 1950's. If you can get passef the decor and are looking for the diner experience you will find it at Frank's. I will hit it the next time in ludlow.

Hanna's is a no-frills diner with a menu of standard American fare and Polish specialties. We had the Polish platter for lunch and were not disappointed, except perhaps for the slightly doughy perogis. The bigos (hunter's stew) and kielbasa hit the spot and the service was swift and friendly. One of us had a cheeseburger: passable but unexciting. Note: Hanna's is on Main St. in the Indian Orchard neighborhood of Springfield, not the Main St. downtown.

New Pizza parlor in town we decided to try. They have an authentic Italian brick stove that takes 4 -5 hrs to "stoke up"~ that gets them to 750-800º! I would suggest calling in your order, whether you eat in our out, as it takes EXACTLY 35 minutes to make a perfect pizza here, The wait is worth it! Call it in and you'll get it faster. Without a bar there's not much to do.Sauce is excellent along with toppings and crusty dough, although we thought they were a bit stingy with the eggplant, which is pretty cheap in July! Their "thin" large (18") pizza was enough for 4 servings for $20 bucks, and well worth the price. We have had pizza's from these stoves and they are really good.We will come back. The bar is not yet open, so I'd hope B.Y.O.B. comes quickly, as Massachusetts doesn't!Good luck to the owners. There's a lot of competition for the pizza business, but in my opinion, you have my vote!
