Fine dining with German-themed food, beverages, and decor. Banquet Hall and Hunter's room available for private events.
Restaurant was clean and comfortable. Tables situated nicely with privacy and quiet enough for conversation. Food was delicious, authentic German with Polish influences. Wiener Schnitzel was fantastic. Would definitely recommend and return if ever in this area again. Kudos!!!Katy V. Glenville, NY

This is a great place for mouth watering cuisine! I love this place, the food is always delicious and the servers are very attentive. I started off with the Kale soup which was great. I had seafood, Spicy Shrimp dish which was very fresh and my boyfriend had a steak, which was cooked to perfection. We ended our meal with the fired Oreo's, need I say more??I am a picky eater and known to send my food back very often and this place was amazing!

Hanna's is a no-frills diner with a menu of standard American fare and Polish specialties. We had the Polish platter for lunch and were not disappointed, except perhaps for the slightly doughy perogis. The bigos (hunter's stew) and kielbasa hit the spot and the service was swift and friendly. One of us had a cheeseburger: passable but unexciting. Note: Hanna's is on Main St. in the Indian Orchard neighborhood of Springfield, not the Main St. downtown.

I have been going to Labuda's since I was a child, as had my grandmother and her mother. It's as authentic a Polish market as you are likely to find. It is very small, but the imported foods are all excellent and the Keilbasa etc. is first-rate, drawing people from other states at holiday times. The owners mainly speak Polish but can communicate the basics in English. It seems they are friendlier if you speak Polish to them!

It seems that most of my reviews are in the 4 circle (Very Good) category. That is because, like most of us, I don't want average or worse. With TripAdvisor's help, and sometimes other sources, one can find better places! My wife and I were very pleased with our lunch today at Mateus. It is a little out of the way, unless you live in Ludlow, but well worth trying if you are in the area. Also, don't be put off by the large parking lot on the bar side, filled today with a lot of pickup trucks. I took a peak in the bar, and the folks there, at least during the lunch hour were hard working types, not lounge lizards. While we were the only folks on the restaurant side, the welcome was warm and sincere. We had, respectively, the Shrimp Mozambique and Rabbit Stew, and both were excellent. Vegetables and potatoes were well prepared and the the sauces for both main courses delicious. A glass each of the house red wine was respectable, and more interesting wines were available by the bottle and half bottle. We shared a slice of "cracker cake", a pleasant and fairly light concoction. I was especially delighted with a European class espresso, Bistrot, a superb and connoisseur's blend from the Dolomites in Italy. Both the restaurant and bar side have professional grade espresso machines, but they won't do much for you unless you start with top quality beans and someone who cares about making it right. We are blessed, in this part of Massachusetts, with a number of pockets of ethnic communities that maintain strong ties with their culture and heritage. On both sides of the Atlantic, the Portuguese are among the nicest and hardest working people. We will remember this address, and look forward to more meals here. The restaurant has been in business since 1987 and should be around for many more decades based on quality, friendliness and service.
This place has really good grilled meats. They'll do a platter for you with rice or a sandwich, with fries. It's very low frills, no air conditioning, only a few tables and cash only, but the food is very good. Spanish and Portuguese-style prepared foods. There isn't much for vegetarians here, but they will make you an order of grilled vegetables that is really tasty. Not fast food - you place your order and then they fix it. So not the place if you're in a hurry, but worth the wait otherwise.

Excellence abounds! My octopus was quite a different presentation, with broccoli rabe and lemoned potato.Delish! My sweetie had swordfish perfectly done and enough for another lunch. This is our friends favorite restaurant and there's a good reason why! Perfectly cooked and fresh foods. We've been here many times and they've never failed to produce an excellent meal. Nothing fancy, but good food!!

Good Portuguese food served here and at fair prices. The service is typically good. The restaurants decor is not the greatest, lol, but good food at good prices. Give it a try.

This restaurant was on a list recommended by our hotel, and after reading the reviews here, we decided to give it a try. There was only one other couple, being past dinner time on a Sunday, so we had great service and food came out quick. My husband really enjoyed his shrimp, and my roast beef was also very tasty, esp the sauteed mushrooms. The restaurant is smallish, but with separate bar area and banquet facilities. Loved the fish tank, a nice homey touch. If we lived around here, we would be regulars.

A very basic decor can't detract from the family friendly ambiance your feel at the Europa. It doesn't have the most extensive menu (with a particularly skimpy burger selection) & some of the entrees have a Portuguese flair, but everyone should be able to find something they like. The service was not particularly swift but very attentive & friendly. My Bourbon burger was fine & dinner for 2 was $26--not bad. There were lots of families on this Saturday night & I did get the feeling you could always feel safe bringing the children to this casual mom & pop establishment. There's no reason why I wouldn't go back.
