My family has talked about this place for years and I finally got to have dinner there while back visiting. I'm right down the middle on this place. Here are the highlights and missed opportunities from our visit.I called to make a reservation for 3 people at 6:30 on a Friday night. My voicemail was returned and the table was confirmed. We arrived at 6:25 to a half full restaurant, but were were offered some less than desirable table options. One was in a back bar, a second was along a wall close to a deck entrance door where people were coming and going to an outside bar. We settled on the third option in the main dining area, across from the windows. It was OK, but also in a main traffic area for staff. I guess I was expecting a slightly better table would have been held for someone who makes a reservation versus a walk in party. Annoying me even more, a table of two was sat next to us. They asked to move to a window table and waited for it to be cleaned. They move and sit with their backs to the sunset!!! Why ask for a window table if your going to face into the restaurant and look at other guests? Weird.Shortly after being seated, we were greeted by our server who immediately offered beverages while we decided on dinner options. Drinks arrived within an reasonable amount of time and orders were placed. Crab cakes to start, we also ordered three entrees...the scallops off the menu and two specials, blackened steak tips and a balsamic chicken. We weren't in any sort of rush, but the crab cakes took 25 minutes to arrive. No big deal because we were chatting and having a good time. The crab cakes were delicious with a subtle heat component from the remoulade. The included salads arrived 20 minutes later, but again, we were actually fine with the slow pace. Water glasses at this point are empty, but I had to ask for refills (each time) instead of being offered them. An hour and 10 minutes into our meal, the server comes by to offer an apology for the food taking so long. We are not at all concerned and enjoying the sunset. The server offered an unsolicited excuse about the kitchen being slammed all at once. Sure, but I don't need to know that and honestly, that's an execution/management issue. Don't seat the whole restaurant at once if the kitchen can't handle it...stagger the seating. Ten more minutes later, our table is approached by a woman asking, "who ordered the steak tips?" No "hello", "good evening", "Hi I'm Martha (name changed) the kitchen manager." She informed us that they no longer had any steak tips and to choose something else from the menu, which they offered complimentary. Really??? It took you almost 1.5 hours to figure this out? Regardless, the gesture was appropriate and appreciated. The entrees were...wait for it...amazing!! I had the scallops with maple, bourbon, bacon, jam, mashed potatoes and a blackberry sauce. I had scallops the night before at another restaurant and decided to try these since scallops are not common in Hawaii. This was, and I commented to the other two people, THE BEST scallop dish I have ever had. I had a bite of the balsamic chicken special and, it too, was delicious. I get that this isn't fine dining, but a few service issues would bump this place up just a little. Drop the entree plates with the main item (i.e. fish, beef, chicken) facing the guest, not away from them. The kitchen staff goes to all the effort to make a beautiful presentation, only for the staff to place the food facing away from me and I'm staring at potatoes. Don't carry glasses of wine to the tables with your hand on the glass, use the stem. Better yet, drop all drinks below the 50/50 line. I don't want your hands near the lip of the glass where I am about to drink from. I've worked in restaurants and you'd be amazed at how infrequently the staff washes their hands. Can I get a water refill? Had to ask someone for more water since I couldn't see our server. One of us had an empty beer glass for 20 minutes also without an offer for another drink. Dessert was good and prices were reasonable. The check arrives and it still has the beef tips on it. We bring it to the server's attention and it takes 15 minutes to resolve and run the credit card.Overall, I would return for the scallops alone. Now that I've dined here, I am eager to try it again. I need to approach the experience with lower expectations and hope I am a little more impressed next visit. Sometimes it's the simplest little things that could elevate this restaurant to the next level.

The Northampton Brewery brews fine ales and lagers, served with outstanding food by the friendliest staff around. We're conveniently located in downtown Northampton, Massachusetts on Brewster Court (really) smack dab in the middle of all the public parkin
Was hungry, so went for full burger with. As one who is rather picky about burgers, this was outstanding. Exactly as promised...and the beer, "BEER", was as noted on menu. Bitter, UK style (my fav.)Had never been to this place in our 3 2/3rds years, yes I don't like to eat out much--but this was worth it.

Had a meeting in Easthampton and we needed to get dinner . Riff's does a lot of advertising and they are open on Mondays so that's where we headed. It's not hard to find the entrance is right next to the main entrance to the building called East works. We got a seat at the bar called the Hide Away, I must say there were quite a few people for a Monday. The spinach salad we spit was huge and fresh. After that we spit a burger, not the biggest burger but it was cooked has ordered and was tasty , fries were really crispy. Overall everything was good and we will go back!

Across street from Mount Holyoke College. Great location, but previous restaurants here have been lackluster. Yard House changes that. Good selection with excellent variety. Appears popular with locals. Great music the night we dined. Guitar and vocalist who were excellent. Not overpowering, but great renditions of 60s, 70s, 80s classics. Food reasonably priced. Enjoyed everything we ordered. Recommended when in area.
