Discover Restaurants offering the best Bar food in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, United States. Yes, getting there is a bit of a project. But vacationers have been braving the ferry for years, and this tiny island off Cape Cod remains one of the most popular and picturesque destinations in New England. Among the island's towns, you're sure to find the Vineyard that's right for you. With stately Greek revival houses dating back to the whaling era of the early 19th century, Edgartown is a seaside village of boutique shopping and pristine harbor views. For more of a "beach town" feel, Oak Bluffs has the Flying Horses carousel, an arcade and an easy walk to the beach, plus the history and charm of the "gingerbread" houses in the Methodist campgrounds. Vineyard Haven offers visitors a blend of both. For a real retreat, Chilmark/Aquinnah is the place to get away from it all. In the off-season, the island is quieter and far less crowded, but the shore is always beautiful. Whenever you visit, leave your car behind! Cabs are plentiful and greet the incoming ferries to help you reach your destination. Most visitors prefer to explore the island on a bicycle, scooter or tourist-friendly public buses.

The food was very good, but the table service was very average. The hostess greeted me with âAre you eating or just here for drinks? I canât seat you at a table if you are just drinking.â That was her âHello, how are you? Will you be having lunch with us today?â LoL. She sat us facing straight into the afternoon sun with no umbrella or cover, so the view was wasted because it was so intense we actually had to turn around and face her at the hostess stand.

BEST CHOWDER IN NEW ENGLAND FROM YANKEE MAGAZINE, BEST CHOWDER 2015 from CAPE & ISLANDS MAGAZINE, MV MAGAZINE and winner of the 2015 MV CHOWDER CONTEST!! - Copper and mahogany grace our nautically chic dining room creating a casual-fine dining atmosphere.
The chowder was perfectly madeâright amount of salt, perfectly cut potatoes, perfectly diced clams. My husband had the lobster roll and I had shrimp cocktail. Not the best shrimp cocktail Iâve ever had, but not bad. The lobster roll was delicious. They have a really good bar with great drink selectionsâwines, beers, vodkas, and tequilas. Checked out the loft upstairs and it was hopping. We left to get Backdoor Donuts, but would return to play darts, pool, etc. Great place.

We appreciated dining outdoors at 19 Raw Oyster Bar. The service was exceptional...very accommodating, helpful and friendly. We shared an assortment of oysters prior to dinner. It was a nice presentation. Our meals were very good as well. We had completed our dining experience and we were checking out...when we noticed some desserts "wandering" past our table. A lemon cake looked incredible. So, we opened up a new check and ordered dessert....a smart move! We also ordered a limoncello which "19 Raw" doesn't offer but they managed to pull it off...going above and bejond. The evening was an exceptional experience. Enjoy!

The Offshore Ale Co. restaurant and brewery is open for lunch and dinner year round on Martha's Vineyard, with award winning beer and food, Offshore serves up good cheer and something for all tastes!
We walked by several mostly empty restaurants before finding this one. The place was hopping, the staff knew the regulars by name, and the waiter was very familiar with the food. My partner had a lobster roll that was recommended and it was a great choice. I had the special, skirt steak in a rice and bean bowl that was very tasty. Now I wish I had the recipe so I could make it at home.

Owned by local guys who care about the local economy The Port Hunter is a great addition to the Edgartown restaurant scene. We were three for dinner and I had fabulous cod fish tacos while the other two folks enjoyed the Vegatabowl. Each dish was prepared very carefully and was very fresh. The food was delish but the service was at yet another level. The staff is attentive and everyone has a job. Our waters running low, someone is right on it. Dishes need to be cleared, again someone is right on it. Food coming from the kitchen, there are two folks whose job is it to wipe each plate and make sure it looks professional. Want raw oysters, there are two people at the raw bar keeping it fresh and ready all the time. At one point we were curious how low our waters could go before being refilled, they never got below 75%! And it was not to the point of being annoying, it was professional and very well done. They do not take reservations unless you are a party of six; we were three on Monday night and got right in, but we did see lines later in the week. We will return for sure!

Join us for delicious dining on the beautiful Edgartown Harbor.
Visited here on Columbus Day weekend with my family. It was a nice evening so we got to sit outside and watch the Chappaquidick ferry go back and forth. I ordered the Lobster roll which was filled generously with lobster which had been lightly tossed with mayo and celery. The only issue was the roll wasn't very good and I found the lobster a bit salty. My wife and son tried the shrimp dumplings which were actually japanese style shumai and both liked them enough to order it a second time. My son also ordered a salmon sushi roll which he found to be quite tasty as well. The service was attentive but unobstrusive. Overall, a nice restaurant with something that will please almost anyone looking for a decent, reasonably (for MV) priced seafood meal.

First visit to Martha's Vineyard, my friend's son and her native islander daughter-in-law took us here for drinks and dinner. We were a good-sized party of 7 and a baby. The Bloody Mary with shrimp was fabulous, not too, spicy. The New England Clam Chowder was delicious. Our waitress was delightfully entertaining and very efficient. There was good island ambiance, a great view of the water, and the music was at a perfect volume to be able to hear but still have a conversation. Will go again on our return!Weâre so glad you enjoyed your visit to our restaurant . Thank you for your review.

Great bar, cocktails, and small plates. Was really impressed. Best wings I've had on island since Smoke n Bones closed. Bluefish pate great. Whiskey's and cocktails top notch. Great bartender. This is a place for adults and maybe large groups to sit a big high top or at bar. It is a small joint, so best to go in shoulder season. Loved it and wished we hadn't saved it for the end of the season.

Year-round neighborhood bistro & bar located in Oak Bluffs, serving fresh local cuisine at family affordable prices. There is also a boutique bowling alley with full food and beverage service at the lanes. Private event space upstairs for parties, confere
Trip Advisor rated this place number one on Marthaâs Vineyard where there are dozens of superb restaurants. I thought âBowlâ in the name had something to do with food. Nope. This place is a bowling alley! It has five bowling alleys, a bar and a few tables for diners, but itâs NOT a first class restaurant. Clearly, itâs a place frequented by the Oak Bluffs locals, not a place that attracts Vineyard visitors. We tried it anyway. The service was outstanding. The food was average at best. Donât be fooled by this rating.Sorry to hear you had such false expectations of our business. I have to say, I find it really unfair for you to leave such a poor and highly inaccurate review about our establishment because you made a false assumption based on a word in our business name. We don't disguise anywhere that we have modern bowling lanes as part of our overall entertainment experience. If you read almost any of our online reviews, or visited our website, or even just googled us, you would quickly realize we have bowling lanes (10 of them, not 5). But the reason we are rated so highly on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and elsewhere is because our very separate Bistro and Bar (with over 100 seats) has become one of the most popular year-round restaurants on Martha's Vineyard. And it's not because we are (or perhaps are not) a first class restaurant. It's because we have a diverse menu that offers something for everyone, that is affordably priced - without compromise on quality of product. But hey, I guess you can't please everyone.
