Went here as a group of family for dinner. I used to live in Japan and can be a bit of a food snob with Japanese food but was very happily surprised to have such a delicious Japanese meal on the east coast! We ordered a ton of dishes and shared everything. We loved the fluke starter with yuzu sauce, kinutemaki, nasu dengaku, tempura, gyoza, and maki. The agedashi tofu was good, but a little more firm tofu than I prefer. I preferred ogaâs cold appetizers and maki rolls to the nigiri but everything was good. Definitely a place where sharing style eating works well!

Great authentic food, friendly service. A daughter lived in Thailand for 6 years and she and I both really like Coconut Thai. Genuine, authentic Thai ford - much better than Amarin in my opinion. Restaurant is very small and you go to Coconut Thai for the food not the ambience. Have eaten at restaurant for apx 10 years and have ALWAYS had prompt, friendly service. One of co-owners is a bit shy but very attentive service here. Very good for take-out as well. Inly complaint I have is that they do not serve Khao Soi a curried chicken soup that is very popular in Chang MAi and Northern Thailand.

While on a visit to Olin College in Needam, Mass., we stopped for lunch at The Wok in Wellesley, Mass. Although the outside of the restaurant is unimpressive, the inside is quite comfortable and nicely laid out. The food was good but quite different from the Chinese American food I am used to eating in New York or SE Florida. For one thing, there was far less seasoning in the dishes, especially salt. To perk up the egg drop soup, I added some hot chili oil. That improved the taste. Massachusetts Chinese restaurants serve dark brown lobster sauce. This menu offered the option of a light sauce that they called NY style. It was not like anything I had seen before. The fried rice was so brown that it looked like food dye was added ( I donât say it was, only that it looked like it). On the positive side, their egg rolls were excellent. The service was very fast and efficient. Overall, not a bad choice for a lunch stop.

Pretty average Thai cuisine in a small but very noisy venue. I assume Lemon Thai is quite popular and hence crowded and very boisterous. Definitely not a Zen dining experience. Food was good but not at all extraordinary. Service was reasonably attentive. No liquor license so be prepared to bring your own wine and beer.Don't go too far out of your way, but if it has to be Thai and you're in Wellesley this place will certainly fit the bill.

Not sure what has happened to this restaurant lately as service was terrible as others have experienced. Meals were served quickly however server literally started removing our plates before we had completed our meals. So awkward. We told her we were still eating and she left in a huff. Our last experience was so terrible we wonât be returning.

We were in the area and ready for an early dinner. On the suggestion of a colleague we tried C.K. Shanghai, and were glad we did. Not being connoisseurs of Chinese cuisine, we stuck to the things we knew (chicken with peanuts, and fried rice). It was very good and we had a pleasant leisurely experience throughout. My companion and I will definitely find another reason to be in the area again, just so we can come back and try other menu options.

Third restaurant, just opened three weeks ago in Jimmy's location
Finally we found our way to this neighborhood style Japanese restaurant that also serves certain Korean dishes. Our party of 3 tried several dishes:Vegetable tempura - always goodHarumaki, crispy vegetable spring roll - tastyNegi Tuna roll (seaweed outside, tuna and scallion inside) - refreshingTuna Tataki (Thin slices grilled rare tuna with spicy ponzu sauce) - wonderful smoky taste to the tuna.Spicy Pork Bulgogi - Marinated thin strips of pork in a sauce over rice and vegetables - we will be back to have this again!Kohaku Don, Tuna and yellowtail sashimi on a bed of sushi rice - the tuna was so fresh and sweet.Beef Don - Spicy thin strips beef with scallions and onions, served in a spicy sauce over rice - a solid choice! The 3 entrees came with nice tasting miso soup or a salad with ginger dressing. The service was efficient. Parking in the back of the restaurant.

My wife likes to go here with me. She taught English in Thailand for awhile and waxes nostalgic now and then. Personally, I like the variety. Sometimes I find East Asian cuisine to be too heavy on salt and/or salty sauces and spices; this place has spicy food, non-spicy, vegetable dishes, meat, poultry--a cornucopia of food that can be as salty or fresh as you really please. It is certainly a good place to try new things. She likes the cashew chicken and I like the duck and various vegetables--also an eclectic variety of beers.

Food is good, but don't expect fine dining or ambience. People in Wellesley use Yama for reliable takeout food, and ocasionally it is nice to go there to sit at the Japanese style tables in the back, with the kids.

We have given this restaurant a chance several times and this last time made our decision clear, never again! Service was spotty, food was okay but not great! Clam chowder was watery, too much bacon and the French dip was overloaded with horseradish sauce! Funny, we almost were going to get up and leave after looking at the menu but decided to give it one more shot! An expensive choice!
