Poor Service, Poor Food, No WiFi

1. The breakfast buffet is terrible (powder scramble eggs, bacon, potatoes) that is sitting sad and cold for $24. That's the only breakfast option. 2. I was going to walk to a restaurant but it was pouring and the hotel had no umbrellas. 3. The Wife didn't work and worse it keep interfering with my phones hotspot 4. The front desk has not idea what's in the area - worse they pretend they do and send you on wild goose chases There are much better hotel options in Boston Common -- definitely stay at the other hotels.

Updated and Clean but Loud

Stayed here for 4 days and absolutely loved the staff they were all awesome. The hotel is extremely modern compared to nearby options which was definitely a plus. Was disappointed by a few things during our stay here. Our room wasn't ready but luckily they offered us a huge locker so that we could explore the island then come back in and check in later. Cons - The walls are extremely thin walked into the bathroom at 1am and heard an entire conversation from next door. Also the guest upstairs must have had kids because it sounded like the ceiling was going to fall onto us EXTREMELY LOUD. It was kind of ridiculous to be honest I know there isn't any carpet in the rooms but they need some type of sound barrier. - Bathroom is small for my big beautiful people the shower will be a tight squeeze it was for me - There was no soap in our room for the entire stay. And the housekeepers did a poor job of cleaning our room everyday the floor wasn't vacuumed and 2 nights in a row they made our beds but didn't change the sheets and I felt sand all over the sheets. They could have at least shook them. - Our mini fridge didn't actually keep our stuff cold which was fine but disappointed that the rooms didn't have a microwave and there wasn't one downstairs in the "Canteen" area either. They offered hot water if you buy a cup of noodles ........ Overall it was nice just not what I expected. If housekeeping cleaned the rooms a little better and there was a working fridge and microwave even with all the noise it would easily be a 10/10.

Great Inn, I would suggest asking for a room right in the main building so you can have view of the fire pit and the building. There is a great breakfast included, heated pool and employee offered to start up the fire pit at anytime! Very convenient and pet friendly!

Property is beautiful, service not so much.

First the good....The property and location is beautiful and convenient. We have stayed here for the past 4 years. Kevin is the manager and while we were there we had the heating unit go out in the room. He was quick to check it and get us into another room quickly. This was not an issue as things will break and it was handled quickly. Rooms are clean and the view is great. Now for the bad....they are having staffing issues. They do not provide daily room service. They do charge an amenities fee in addition to the cost of the room. I knew that and didn't have a problem. On their website it says the fee is for the soaps, in room coffee, breakfast, and pool usage. While we we there we ran low on toilet paper. My wife went to the front desk to get more....she was told they didn't have any they would call housekeeping. So I went over an asked if I needed to buy some while I was out and was told no housekeeping would bring some and the lady at the front desk handed me a box of tissues. We left for a few hours and when we came back still have not gotten any. Back to the lobby and a new person was working. Told her. She ran and got some for us. The other issue was breakfast. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10. Day 1 no issues. Selection of hot biscuit sandwiches, cereal, pastries, fresh fruit. Day 2 got there at 9. No hot sandwiches left and they were not making more. Ok we were a little late. Day 3 get to breakfast at 730. Hot sandwiches gone they said they ran out. Not happy so I will have a muffin with cream cheese. Container is empty so I ask if they could get some more....nope they don't have anymore cream cheese. They said the order didn't come. I am pretty sure the grocery stores in town would have some. You would think they would have sent staff for something like that. Remember they are charging the extra fee for the amenities. The lack of staff should not be the guest problem it is a corporate problem. If you charge a fee for service you should provide the service or eliminate the fee. The brag about the properties being premier properties. They need to figure out how to provide premier service. Again the manager is great but corporate needs to provide him with the tools to do the job. Newport Hotels runs the property.
