As I was driving past the Carriage House this past Saturday I saw a large group of nicely dressed people getting read yo go in. I thought, "I know they will have a wonderful time." I was so surprised for my birthday party. It was so wonderful to see new friends and old friends and family. Due to the wait staff being so attentive I always had something to eat and drink. I joking told one of the ladies that I would secretly meet her when she brought out the next tray of scallops so I wouldn't have to share them. In less than 5 minutes she came to me with a napkin and scallop. I felt so pampered. Billy Jo and Crystal and the young man (sorry I can't remember his name. 60 yrs old does that) we wonderful. They felt like they were part of our group. Because they were so attentive I was able to talk with eveyone. Two years ago we had an 80th birthday party for my Mom at Carriage House. It left us with a fantastic memory. I am so glad my husband chose to have my party there. We have never been disappointed. We are hoping to plan a get together there next year just so we can get together.Thank you so much for making the day so special.Sincerely,Paula Mathis

Went to Dinner with my Wife and another couple on a Friday evening. The town of Union Bridge is not blessed with many restaurants, so this one stands out on Main Street. The menu is pretty wide open, lots of items for many pallets. Italian, American, Seafood and eats for the Kids. One person in my party had Crab Cakes, One had Salmon cakes mine was Talapia, my wife had a salad with chicken. All meals were good and plentiful, yes they could have been a little better, but they were done with heart and caring and that goes for a lot in my book. The owner comes to the table, my server was the Manager and everyone was nice and helpful. My one complaint is it is BYOB and I really wanted a Beer with dinner. Not to worry, a Liquor store right down the street 1/2 a block. I give it 5 star because they try real hard for their base of customer: meals for the towns people more than the visitor. Everything was good, service was great, place was rustic and fun. All in all, an enjoyable evening. Note: Must try the Bread Pudding with Rum sauce for the desert, Killer! I'll be back again when passing through Union Bridge, MD. Ciao!

Voted Carroll County's Best Overall Restaurant and Best Dinner In the 2014 Carrooll County Times Readers Poll Bud's offers a full menu with innovative presentation.
We really enjoyed our Father's Day Dinner - all themain dishes were delicious and portions were just right. My husband had the small plate Baked Rockfish Chesapeake and my mother and I the Chicken Chesapeake (don't remember what Dad ordered.) For appetizer my husband ordered the Moscow Oysters - hours later was saying how much he enjoyed them & wants to go back to have again. The rest of us shared the Olive sampler, but was a good portion for two people to enjoy. Staff was friendly and efficient.Items of note, we ordered a bread basket which was supposed to be an assortment of breads. This turned out to be one large roll (size of 6" approx long.) sliced 4 ways like a pickle. $6.00 Unless I missed something here, this is what I would have expected with a regular bread service not what was advertized as an assortment of breads nor not what I would have expected for the price/upcharge. Since I had ordered it, no one else realized anything amiss until I said something later. And then all were in agreement.Second item was lack of choices for dessert - only two. A tiramisu parfait and a Blueberry Cheesecake. We had some of both. The cheesecake was served on top of a blueberry sauce, not what one would expect as there were no actual blueberries. But to be fair, my husband did say the cheesecake was delicious and I did really enjoy the tiramisu parfait. All said, we really did enjoy the food, and we want to try again but will just ask a few more clarifying questions the next time.
when you but at subway what you are getting is a salad sandwich.they are very skimpy with any meat. they are a carry out and I don't think they care if you come back or not
Itâs once again restaurant week coaxing me into trying new places I havenât eaten at yet. This yearâs list was bigger and the menus all sounded delicious. Flickâs is new since the last time I got up to Taneytown and their food description seemed to be right up my alley. I made a terrific first choice. There were 3 courses offered. You could get the 3 course event special or you could select any item at the ala carte price or you could have ordered anything on their regular menu which was a nice selection of sports bar food and dining items.I entered via the sports bar area which is a nice sized bar with ample table settings. The back room dining area was for those desiring to dine without the sport bar atmosphere. It was clean trendy and comfortable. I sat facing an open door into an adjacent area that looked like a hospital hallway which gave me the feel that I was eating in an upscale hospital cafeteria. I deduced that the neighboring building was an assisted living facility. When I go back, and I will go back, Iâm sitting in the bar area. For my first course I chose the onion and jalapeno tator tots with cheese and bacon and a ranch dipping sauce. I was torn between those and the crab stuffed mushroom caps. Iâm guessing there was no wrong choice. The dish was fabulous and Iâd go back just for that appetizer. The third choice was a strawberry almond salad. For the main course I opted for Chicken Chesapeake which was served with a spicy remoulade sauce which was different than the customary Newberg sauce. I like anything spicy so the tator tots and chicken were very tasty to me. Unlike last yearâs Maggieâs version of this dish in which the chicken was dry and had no sauce, this yearâs version at Flickâs Pub was moist and flavorful and served hot. All pluses. It came with a big scoop of Mashed potatoes and spinach. There were no substitutions or I would have swapped out the mashed since I had the tots. When I say the vegetables were ordinary I donât mean in any way they were bad. I would just have expected more flavoring. My reason for this is the taste of the appetizer and main course showed the chef had the skills to make this establishment stand out and as such would have expected that to shine in the vegetables as well. For desert they didnât have the advertised fruit tart so I opted for the strawberry cheesecake which was perfect to finish off a very good meal. When I entered there was only one other party in the dining room and a few people sitting at the bar and front tables. While I was eating more people filtered into the bar area almost filling it up. I say this as the bar tender was also the waiter and throughout most of my meal the service was excellent. By the time I was looking for my check he was so busy the manager eventually brought me the check after I had waited longer than was necessary. I say this as I have worked in such a situation and I would have served the desert and set the check down on the table and told the customer there was no rush to pay so that I would not have to go back unless the customer needed credit card service or change. If I would have needed those services I would have had the option to walk up to the bar and ask for them.
Excellent is the only word to describe the food, serving size, service, price and cleanliness of Jenny's. My only complaint is that we can only visit when we are traveling the country. The first time we stopped was in the evening and we were attracted because from the street it literally sparkled.

I knew the bowling alley served food, and I got what I expected. It was good, not great. Service was definitely subpar. But we went for bowling, not the food. They were very accommodating regarding our time bowling duckpins. We had two four year-old kids and managed to keep them entertained. I think the place is kid friendly. Going to Thunderhead is an experience worth doing. I will visit again when I go back home.

Had lunch here on a cold day. Cold came up through the floor boards, and that was a distraction. Service was friendly and timely while the small place was crowded and busy. Food was about what you expect from a diner. Good prices. My first visit so I will try it again and perhaps I will be more impressed next time.

There is a new chef at Antrim and it shows. We were huge fans of a Michael Gettier, but he left several months ago. The food is still good, but shy of excellent. The tomato bisque is made with a lobster broth. We couldn't really taste it. Why not top it with some pieces of lobster, or even some lumps of crab? The duck breast was well cooked, but dearly in need of a sauce. The accompanying black rice was very plain. A sauce or reduction of some sort would have made the plate sing. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Our desire is for all of our guests to leave feeling their experience was excellent.
