Serving the finest in local seafood since 1945. One of Maryland's oldest continuously operated restaurants. Still owned and operated by the Landis family. 70 plus years of quality and freshness. Fresh Fish, Crab Dishes, Calms and Oysters (in season), Seas
After attending at an event at the nearby Montgomery College Theatre, we had dinner with my nephew and his wife at this restaurant. While it is very convenient for both of our families, it just doesn't come to mind since we don't pass it as often as we once did. The service was immediate and very attentive. Food was served timely, and fresh from the broiler. We all ordered fish (rockfish and flounder), and it was prepared to perfection. We didn't order any shellfish. Do not expect fancy sauces. They also have fried fish, but we didn't order any. Serving size was perfect. Salad was adequate for 2 (as expected), but the dressings are packets. Prices reflect mid-range.The decor reflects the period when first opened 70+ years ago. Limited tables are available, but ample counter space. Do not expect snazzy! Clean and comfortable.

The three of us arranged to meet her and, because the evening was shaping up to be pleasant outdoors, were able to grab a table outdoors, away from the roar inside. It made for delightful, easy conversation punctuated by occasional people-watching as the line for getting into the Fillmore around the corner snaked a full two blocks around. We split a fish taco (the best!) e Sriracha fries and a white bean hummus. All were tasty, and the portions were manageable. Our waiter was new but eager. A fine evening.

The food is good and plentiful. The customer service is AWFUL. Just think, if, the customer service was good this place would dynamic. The young ladies are not friendly and do bot serve with a smile. Otherwise, the food is and the restaurant is very clean. I love to dine from Mid-Atlantic.
When I first walked into this restaurant, my jaw almost dropped. Talk about walking into the past. The first thing you notice is the u-shaped counter that seats about 20 or so. Along one wall was a line up waiting for either a seat at that counter or in their adjoining dining room. we chose the counter after about a 20 minute wait. The staff is friendly, the service is fine but the food was delicious! The décor represented a time from the past. It's really too bad that parking was hard to find but when you think about when they first opened the doors (1945), I'm sure it wouldn't have been a problem. Excellent & highly recommended if you not in a hurry.
