Mycoworker and I decided to try pho (and other Vietnamese dishes) for the first time and this place had the highest reviews. We got there about six and got a table. The place was clean and I could see into the kitchen with no problem. The staff was accommodating when answering my many questions and even made suggestions when they saw we were new to the cuisine. I got a quick chopstick lesson and directions on how to eat each dish. To drink I had the Alice tea. It was good but a little milky tasting which I don't care for. We ordered the steak/brisket/pork pho and the grilled pork and shrimp Bon heo (spellings?). Also ordered a chicken banh mi sandwich.LET ME TELL YOU I AM HOOKED!!! The ingredients tasted so fresh I could almost tell you the quality of the soil they were pulled from. Everything was well seasoned and I enjoyed sampling a little of everything. Lots of people came in to eat so there was a small crowd by the time we left but we will definitely be back!!

There are five pho restaurants within a two mile radius here in Catonsville, and the next closest place is a good 15 - 20 miles south. Pho #1 is the best, and we have tried them all - many times. The broth is flavorful and never greasy. The meats are fresh, soft, and sliced thin so that as the broth heats them they never get rubbery like some other places. The pho tai is perfectly rare meat. Due to food allergies, I ask them to hold certain ingredients and they never make a mistake like some of the other area pho restaurants do. I've become so spoiled by this gem in Catonsville. Even when we travel and get pho at popular restaurants in China town areas of major cities, we still think Pho #1 is the best.

One of the handful of Vietnamese restaurants in Catonsville, Pho Pasteur does not disappoint. The pho portions are slightly smaller than other competitors, but the quality is there. The vermicelli bowls are pretty standard. The rolls are smaller, but the peanut sauce is a little different in a good way. Pho Pasteur also offers a larger variety on their drink menu than most others. Overall, pretty good.

I eat here with my wife and friends once a month for convince.Food is acceptable, portions differ with spring roll sizes and amounts of ingredients in PHÃ.. Also the freshness of the beansprouts is questionable. My last issue at times is the cleanliness of the tables, walls around the tables and the condiments and silverware caddys.Otherwise it is fast service, sometimes too fast and consistent broth.
