We all four of us had great meals. The crab cakes are as good as the best known restaurants throughout Maryland. The pasta is very good as well. The whole staff is professional and the GM walks around to greet each table and asks if they can do or get anything. The service was great and I canât say one bad thing about this place.A must try in Carroll county. I drove 45 minutes to go there because I heard such good thing about the food here. It was worth the trip!

We visit this restaurant often and each time is a pleasant experience. There isn't a large turnover in staff so they seem to like their jobs and it shows in their performance. The wait staff is courteous and attentive. The food choices are fairly diverse given it's more of an italian restaurant. I cannot say I was ever not pleased with the food. Maybe once or twice in the service but those wait staff are no longer there. I would recommend this restaurant.

There a several emporiums in the area run by the same family in Carroll County, Md. and York County, Pa. They keep the same high standards of food and service. In my first visit to the Hampstead location, I was struck by the exceptional cleanliness of the venue as well as the quick service. I confess a bias for establishments where you place your order at the counter and the servers then bring your order to the table. This is tremendous when you don't have time to spare.I had the small Greek Salad, just filled with excellent greens, lots of red onions and green peppers, loaded with Feta cheese. I honestly could not finish it all! The Italian Cold-Cut Sub was not as impressive, but certainly good. Again, it was so generous, I couldn't finish it all. So pleased that the fine reputation of the owners and managers of Genova's over three generations has continued to be of "First-Class" quality.Still can't figure out why this corner of the world has so many wonderful Italian restaurants?
I went here recently and was prepared to order something larger but there was a printed sign that said there was cash only...which makes me think this issue had been going on for some time.I did get a small ice and enjoyed it. The employee was really friendly and I did enjoy what I ordered.
