Bistro Cacao is a restaurant with style and flair, serving some classic French dishes and original ones in a romantic atmosphere of curtained-off tables, perfect for a quiet date. We had a delightful and light Brunch on an Easter Sunday of grilled mahi-mahi and a vegetable omelet. The customers all seemed to be locals. Service was friendly and attentive. Reasonably priced.

We have been eating at Montmartre since it opened. We expect and always get the best of bistro French food in the City. We came early to allow time to eat at a leisurely pace and still make it to our theater performance. We were there when the restaurant opened and after being seated we took our time to choose our dinner. We each had an appetizer and a main course. To start my wife had the creamed soup and I had the brandade. Both were excellent and exceeded our expectations. The mains were equally wonderful. My wife had the venison tenderloin special which was cooked perfectly. I chose the cassoulet which has been one of my favorites.Montmartreâs was excellent. The beans were soft but not mealy. There was a generous portion of sausage, pork belly, terrine and an entire confit quarter. It was all delicious and as a bonus I was able to bring a bottle of wine from home and pay a reasonable corkage fee. To finish we shared the Ille flottante for dessert. It was delicious again and is one of the main reasons we continue to come back year after year. The service was efficient, cordial and timely. We finished in plenty of time to make it to the theater. This restaurant continues to be exceptional and explains why we look forward to coming back.

Le Diplomate is simply a machine. They manage to serve throngs of customers with a level of âcalm and collectedâ that is impressive. Ordering drinks at the crowded bar was not a problem. The hostess waiting for me to get my drink before seating me was not a problem. My server responding quickly to requests was also no problem. The restaurant itself is bustling and loud. The lights, the sounds, the people, and the pleasant smells are wonderful and intense. If it is nice outside, request a patio seat. The food itself is delicious. They do mound on the fries a bit too much where they come as a side, yet they are still very good. The steak frites is the best steak frites I have eaten. The salads are leafy, fresh and generous. You canât go wrong here though I would suggest...1. Might not be the place for baby strollers or small kids.2. Business or business casual attire. Sure, in 2019 no one can really enforce any dress codes, yet you can help them out by making an effort to not wear ball caps, shorts and flip flops. Besides, sometimes dressing more nicely can be fun and it shows respect for both a great restaurant and the people you are with.
