Bushwaller's is probably Frederick's most authentic Old World style neighborhood pub. They have a great bar menu and a festive local crowd on most nights of the week. It can feel gritty and loud at times, but never fails at feeling warm and inviting, especially on a winter's eve or a rainy day. Go on Wednesdays for wing night. Excellent happy hour specials as well.

The Turkey and Avocado Club was delicious. Comes with melted provolone, bacon, tomato and pesto aioli. Very moist, juicy and delicious. My colleague enjoyed his Rachel (turkey, swiss cheese and thousand island sauce). The fries were very good too. Our server was friendly and the manager stopped by to asked how our experience was. Lots of free parking out front. Unfortunately we had to return to work otherwise, we would have tried some of the brews!

Girls Night of food, fun and karaoke. Best seafood restaurant I've been to inland. Crab cakes, stuffed scallops, crab soup and shrimp were all excellent. Karaoke after the excellent meal in the lounge made for a fun night. Will definitely have to return again!!

I went there one late afternoon (around 4:30ish) with my 10-year-old son, and he had their bacon cheeseburger with fries, and I had their steak & cheese on sub with fries. We both thought our respective sandwiches were very satisfying, and the fries passed both Kid and Adult tests--fries were just-right-salty, not-too-greasy, and not-overcooked. We agreed that we would definitely come back and try their other sandwiches!

Went to lunch with a friend on a weekday. We were seated immediately. I ordered the Grilled Chop Salad with blackened salmon and my friend ordered the Emerald Kale Salad with chicken. Each was presented quickly and were very tasty. Prices seemed reasonable. Would try again.

We've lived in Frederick for 20 years and had not tried Avery's but this past Sunday it was time! We arrived at 5:30 and got an outside table right away. This place is very "broken in" - nothing fancy. People playing cornhole outside, hammering crabs everywhere, brown paper on the tables. Crabs seem to be the biggest draw here. I ordered a crab cake, red skin potatoes and grilled asparagus. I give the crab cake a one thumb up. Lots of crab but a bit of filler as well. Could be seasoned better I thought. Mr. ordered stuffed flounder, with same veggies as me. Their grilled asparagus was perfect. Great place to people and car watch out the front deck. They definitely had a lot of regular customers. We would go back!!

Three couples for dinner on a cold, rainy winter night. Roasthouse Pub was a perfect choice. Warmly welcomed and seated promptly by Marcus, the manager. Lots of draft beer choices and a terrific menu of well designed and executed choices. We shared the Maryland crab dip (excellent); entrees were: jerk chicken tacos, Salmon, crab cake, RoastHouse burger, ham brisket and prime rib - all wonderful. We shared two orders of the chocolate bread pudding which was fabulous.Service was attentive but not pushy - excellent.We'll definitely go back!

Somehow for four years we missed this gem. Its facade and entry way are a bit understated--especially when contrasted against the restaurant next door. But once inside, the trust the mixologist behind the bar for a special cocktail with a Hootch and Banter twist. We were here for both dinner (Thursday) and brunch (Sunday). We were three for dinner and five for brunch--given that each of us had a different menu item and everyone was pleased with his/her choice, anything on the menu is a good choice. I had the French toast for brunch--superb!!!!The wait staff is attentive/friendly.

Firestone was a pleasant surprise we stumbled across looking for a quick lunch in downtown Fredrick. We all thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches - French Dip, Hot Pastrami - lots of meat, great toppings, and nice breads. And the truffle fries were also amazing. I have no complaints and a lot to praise. The meals were a little pricey for lunch but you certainly get what you pay for; it was more than worth it. Lunch often feels most like a meal of necessity with few standouts but Firestone was certainly a lunch to remember.
