It took me some time to discover this place, as Wheaton has several other excellent choices for Asian cuisine. However, despite appearances, this place's food is quite good and a lot cheaper then its competition. I recommend the drunken noodles with pork and mango sticky rice! Don't let the fact that is behind a grocery store fool you, this place is certainly worth your time and money.

This restaurant was formerly in China town in d.c. and relocated to this site about two years ago.
New Kam Fong is a great place to eat authentic Chinese food. They were in Chinatown, DC for many years and moved to Wheaton a few years ago. Their dishes are all great. They have fantastic lunch specials and a wide selection of traditional Chinese dishes. By the counter they have a showcase of different meats such as duck, pork to choose from. They also have a huge fresh fish tank full of fresh fish and live Maine lobsters. They serve all types of beer and wine. The service is great and the location is very accessible. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did! They are open for lunch and dinner and offer late dining.

On our return from a road trip we needed quick dinner andbdid a takeout from Nava Thai. My wife LOVED the eggplant with Pork she got and I likewise thoroughly enjoyed the beef appetizer and Tom Kha soup I ordered. One of the best takeout we've done in a long time.

This place is pretty good for dim sum- not the best in the area but definitely not the worst. Service is friendly and fast.

Soups here are pretty good. They have interesting speciality soups and I had me in a pork broth with pork, and shrimp and calamari. Good summer rolls as well. Simple place, good food.

A busy restaurant during meal periods, offers traditional Thai dishes, rice not included. Whole fish at market price can be pricey. Limited parking spaces.

Red Ginger does a brisk takeout business, and it is no wonder. The food is good, the portions are very generous, and the prices are reasonable. The menu is varied, with Chinese and other east and southeast asian options to suit most tastes. The flavors aren't terribly complex, but they aren't monoflavoric either. There are just a few small tables and zero ambiance, so it isn't a great place for eat-in dining.

Mandalay has been one of our favorite restaurants for 15 plus years when it started in the College Park Donut Shop before it moved to Silver Spring.Family run..food consistently great and nice portions.Good Service. Full bar We always start with a green mango salad. I love the yellow beans with scallions and rice. My husband gets their famous wide noodle dish...similar to chow fung with chicken. Leftovers are carried home to be enjoyed a second timr.Fun to have each person try something different so you can share and try new dishes@ Dessert is a must..Shweji..a Burmese speciality cream of wheat, raisins, coconut milk..served warm.Put this on your Must try list when in the DC /Silver Spring/ Montgomery county area. You won't be sorry!! We came from DE to.go since we were in the area! They recently opened up a burmese salad place in DC on Wisconsin and M Street.

I had wanted a light Japanese lunch in anticipation of a heavy dinner. And this place did not disappoint. I ordered the sashimi bento and it was just right in amount and tasty in quality. The food was fresh and well presented. The decor too is interesting. I sat in a booth with the side to the wall that had what looked like a metallic patina--it's actually ceramic tiles. I know because I had a table with that surface once.Nice.
