Columbia is a census-designated place in Howard County, Maryland, United States, and is one of the principal cities of the Baltimore metropolitan area. It is a planned community consisting of 10 self-contained villages. It began with the idea that a city could enhance its residents' quality of life. Creator and developer James W. Rouse saw the new community in terms of human values, rather than merely economics and engineering. Opened in 1967, Columbia was intended to not only eliminate the inconveniences of then-current subdivision design, but also eliminate racial, religious, and class segregation.

We went there for an early dinner (4:30+/-) and there was 1 table seated, 2 people by the bar and that was it. The server was very young (Daughter of owner). She was funny and far less stiff than how she was with the other table. She took drink/appetizer order and suggested other things when asked which she said was either better overall, or fresher fish. Super plus for that. I ordered water and a beer. The other 2 got their drink, I did not. Then I got my water but still no beer. When the appetizers/soup arrived I asked and she said she thought someone brought it out, left and was having a little 'chat' with what looked to be her brother. (Hilarious really). She came back apologetically and then left. It seems like forever before our food came out but I must have seen 10 parties come-pickup and leave so they were crushing their take-out orders. Odd but ok. I thought she would come by, apologize and maybe offer me another beer or water for my wife, nope. BIG Minus. Food arrived, it was pretty good, the Wasabi wasn't so awesome, the soy sauce seemed a bit watered down (even for low sodium) but otherwise we all enjoyed it. They were doing a BOOMING carry out business. Suggestion would be to escort them to the bar so they don't linger/tie up the lobby and turn people away as people never got in thinking it was packed when it was just a mess of carryout folks. Next, while at the bar, offer some soybeans and maybe a drink while they wait for some incremental revenue which would also allow the kitchen more time to take care of the people in-house to get their food while the carryout crowd is distracted with snacks and a drink.Otherwise pretty good and with some tweaks, they could make some decent money.

Ate there for the first time in several years. While not spectacular, it is good neighborhood Chinese Food. It looks a little shopworn but the service is friendly and efficient. The food is good albeit not special. hot and Sour soup is very good. The General Tso shrimp was a bit sweet and the seasonal greens were pretty good. Decent value for the money.

We were there Saturday 2/25. Not the greatest of ambiance, but the food was great. There were many Vietnamese in the restaurant and that speaks towards the authenticity of the food. We split a chowfoon and two appetizers. Delicious. The rolls with the peanut sauce was especially good.

Who knew there would be this many choices for Vietnamese/Asian in the area to choose from. Several looked good, decided on An Loi. Good idea.In a small strip mall off Snowden River Pkwy and near Rt 32. Small, clean, basic furnishings. Very good menu with a wide variety of traditional choices and a few I had not seen before. Couple of summer rolls to start - moist and nicely sized. On to Grilled Beef with Bun/Vermicelli - again, nice portion, served fast and hot. And of course - a sucker for iced Vietnamese coffee - Yum! Maybe next time work up the courage to try the Bubble Tea.Fast, friendly service, nice place, very good food - well worth stopping in.

My wife and I stopped in to the Asean Bistro on Christmas Day without reservations. A wonderful lady found us a table for two, and Boy, were we lucky. As the restaurant was beginning to fill up, we were given probably the grumpiest server they had. This hardly put a dent in our enjoyment as the food and drink he brought to our table, more than made up for his shortcomings as a server. We ordered a Tiki Puka Puka drink, an order of Shrimp Toast, one Pad Thai entree, and an Mignon Mustard entree. Total Bliss my friends!

You can choose the amount of heat; but beware, the heat will only increase your desire to eat more of this delicious Indian food. Totally authentic Indian food, including meat and vegan dishes, you have such a difficult time trying to narrow down choices that you may need to return again and again! Make sure to order the fresh vegetable salad in case the heat of other dishes is too much!

My wife and I took in a movie and enjoyed a lovely dinner afterwards. We had the stuffed lettuce wraps and pork dumplings to start, the Mongolian beef and filet mignon for the main entree. The device was very good and our server Eugenia was excellent. Definitely make a reservation We'll be back again.

Enjoyed a nice lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was clean, staff was courteous and it had a cozy atmosphere. The Chinese music playing in the background seemed a little off but was nice. The food was excellent. We tried five specialty rolls, tempura veggies and tempura softshell crab. Everyone was satisfied. The pricing however seemed high at roughly $35 per person including tips. This may be normal for Maryland but compared to our experiences in Tampa it was double the cost.

We normally save our visits to Sushi Sono for special occasions. Let me preface my comments by noting that I judge my Sushi by a single standard...the quality of its Uni! Not the rolls or the nigiri...the Uni. For the uninitiated, Uni is sea urchin. It looks like chicken entrails and the mouthfeel ox the same. It must be absolutely fresh or it takes on an essence of ammonia and the texture is not as velvety as the top samples of this delectable gift from the sea. While waiting on appetizers and drinks(Sapporo or Kirin Ichiban only please) the folks know that I will always ask to if they have Uni. If a place says no thatâs strike one. Itâs expensive and if nobody orders it, please reference the afore mentioned comment on freshness. Iâll then ask to sample it with our appetizer order. If it passes the test and the order goes forward. If not, itâs a plan vanilla one. Iâve never had to go plain vanilla at Sono. The rest of the menu is very creative.
