Called for coffee and sweets after lunch at another restaurant.Visited on phone recommendation of another venue which was closed.Young lady taking order was pleasant and efficient and whilst there was NO direct pressure to exit facility,it became VERY obvious that they were keen to close up. Coffees tasted OK BUT NOT very hot as specifically requested

RSL's are generally pretty much the same wherever you go and Maryborough's is no exception. We had lunch there and no complaints, at 1PM on a Thursday it was busy and as this is also market day, maybe that was to be expected.
Definitely a more congenial lunch-time eatery than a couple of the pubs we had a look at.

We had lunch specials for $10 each and had two sweet and sour chicken dishes; one with veggies and the other one with chips and salad. Both were perfectly cooked and generous portions. Came with a desert as well. I would order this every time if it was on the menu.

Eat - in bakery with superb beestings, jamaican tarts and a variety of bakery items including pies and a range of hot foods. Excellent products - not expensive. Surprising find in the middle of Maryborough
We were on a road trip and on our way home, we stopped to have breakfast here. We just wanted a quick bite to eat, but after eating one of their French bread Sandwich, we went back and bought much more than we wanted. The sandwiches are not soggy with fillings but rather fresh and well done. The pastries and cakes were lovely too!

Country style hotel serving lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday; great lunch specials - 250g black Angus rump, crumbed local whiting, seafood basket - local prawns, whiting, scallops, chicken schnitzel, Moroccan chicken salad all only $15.
We had always assumed this venue to be just a local pub with average "counter lunch" meals. How very wrong we were. Walking through to the rear of the White Lion we were greeted with a smile and throughout the evening...with professional courtesy comparable to...MoreThank you for your review Phil, greatly appreciated.

The coffee had a lovely flavour. My wife has a new favourite breakfast, the waffles. A pet friendly venue who gets his own puppy chino. Will definately be back while we are still in the area.

Super impressed.
Entree bread & entree mushroom were a delight.
Chicken done sous-vibe style was perfectly done.
Aracini in Neapolitan sauce was delish.
You can tell the chef is passionate, mastery in the menu options.
And be sure to ask about the ghost stories, walk the hallway and check out the pictures.

Had an enjoyable meal this evening. There was 8 of us. Except for one who was gluten free, the rest of us had the buffet at $17 per head. The food was fresh and tasty with plenty of variety. Authentic flavours. We got there around 5.45 and left at 7. The food was topped up regularly whilst we were there with fresh food constantly being prepared. Well worth the visit. The hostess, Flower, was helpful and very pleasant. Fully recommend for a value meal and good Chinese food.

We stayed at "The Wallace" motel opposite, so it was a quick walk over the road to Cockys Grill. The restaurant is named after the sulfur crested cockatoo in his cage in the pub. A good menu selection of steaks, fish, pasta, and on Saturday night the specials were our choice. I had panko chicken, with salad and chips was crispy, and a generous serve. My partner's flathead was very nice. Lots of people were in the two part dining room, so it's a fairly popular spot. Decor is understated, a little bland. Service was quick, and the gentleman taking our order was very friendly and helpful.
