Reccomended by a local we came to zisses for lunch.
They have a great exterior area with trees and large tables.
We ordered a mixed local cheese plate, dakos and a "fest salad" with beans and corn.
All plates were incredible, simple but with great fresh taste. The cheeses were amazing all topped off with hot grilled bread.
Paid 22€ with a local beer.
Good service and staff.
A must go in Crete

Just arrived in Platanias and the hotel receptionist recommended this place. Excellent choice. Our first Greek meal and we really enjoyed the food with generous portions. Not usually our thing but when the karaoke started, we thought it very entertaining. Thanks for making us so welcome.

Delving deep into Cretan tradition, Agreco, a fairytale traditional farm, has revived centuries-old organic farming practices in a unique expression of Greek 'philoxenia', or hospitality. This privately owned 40,000-sq estate is an innovative display of environmentally friendly methods for traditional and modern cultivation and breeding. On a hill near Rethymnon with vine yards and olive trees overlooking the infinite sea, don't miss a culinary experience, tasting diverse seasonal dishes based on the fruits of the land and the legendary nutritional Cretan cuisine. In the Agreco Taverna you will taste the very best of traditional Cretan cuisine. Only fresh, organic farm produce is used in the menu and the preparation is done entirely in the farm kitchens.
We drive an hour to get here - family full of excitement... husband could wine taste whilst I looked after the kids at the 'farm'. We tried to book ahead for days - called relentlessly... we couldn't get through let alone leave a voicemail so we just turned up. It's a stunning vineyard on the steps of a hillside with amazing views to the sea. My husband tried to find someone to see to us and either the owner ora member of staff ushered us all over to the top of some steps, said it was Euro 5 each to look at their herbs, vegetables and have a look at some animals. He couldn't look more annoyed. My husband again tried to say he wanted to do some wine tasting. Another group then came through the entrance and we were fast forgotten about so we decided to leave. What a shame - so much potential but so little... or non existent customer service. Rude. Unhelpful. Don't waste your time.

Traditonal Taverna with local food only.Homemade cheese and homemade bread as well as meat from our farm...Enjoy the best view and wonderfull sunsets of the island...
We traveled up hill from our apartment in the daytime for a look and cup of coffee, the view was stunning. We got talking to the owner (Asterios I think thats how she spells her name) and she was very knowledgeable about the area and foods. We said we would be back for dinner after we had been to the beach, to which she said be back before sunset because it is beautiful. So thats what we done back up at the restaurant around 7ish and ordered our food whilst watching the sun go down. My wife had the local lamb cooked in its own juice and I had the stifado with a dakos side, the food was great. The bread that came with the meal was home cooked too so fresh and tasty. After finishing the meal we were bought a cake and Raki which was on the house. Our whole experience was brilliant.
Thank you so much.

Fabulous place to eat. Just 100 yards from home ( for the week ) Poppy the best host out of all the places to eat we visited. Lovely food at really good prices. Recommended by the lovely Jean at Villa Plus. Happy birthday for yesterday Poppy. You remembered everything about us and all of our requirements. Everybody that visits Villa Plus could make it an all inclusive holiday by making friends with Poppy on the very first day of their holiday.

We ate here last year & ate here twice this year! It's very cheap, food is tasty & served quickly. I ate Greek salad & my fiance had a plate gyros, which was huge! Loads of meat with pitta bread, salad, tzatziki & chips! The frappes (cold coffee) are nice & Mythos isn't dear here either (Greek beer). We also went back a takeaway gyros each one night which was tasty. Next time we go back to Platanes, we'll visit Sky Park again.

This was the first restaurant we went to during our stay in Rethmno...This was a great place: delicious food (greek plate, stifado, giouvetsi... ), cozy atmosphere and very good service!
So good that we went back twice beofre the end of our vacation: would definitely recommend it.

This restaurant looks like most restaurants in the area from the road, however, it is transformed when you enter, going downstairs to an lovely huge open space. Ok, seated quickly, drinks orders taken menus and drinks quickly delivered. We ordered the Aubergine done in the oven and a leek and cheese starter sharing is caring. The mains were for me vegan moussaka (the vegetarian moussaka has tuna in it, because some vegetarians like fish. Sorry then their not vegetarian...rant over) which was lovely. My partner had chicken schnitzel and said it was delicious. Full we passed on a sweet etc. Overall very good dining experience the wine was nice the service excellent the ambiance lovely, would I eat here again, maybe, the mind boggles for vegetarians abroad.......check the small print and enjoy.

So, really the negative reviews got us thinking. But we went anyway, zero regrets, food is good, staff is even better, price reasonable. Been there 3 times within two days, going again today . The chicken sulvaki is great, try it.
