May have been the Albion Tea Rooms
We were exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds and wanted to stop for tea etc ....why is it that in England just because it’s Monday cafes are closed....anyway Jossals were open so we were hopeful.
What a disappointment.
We had parked our car and walked a little way to the cafe, the whole town looked very sorry for itself, when we arrived at the cafe there were signs ‘for sale’...not a promising start.
When we got into the cafe, which with a bit of cleaning and new decoration could be lovely, it was grubby, tables hadn’t been cleared...toilets left a lot to be desired...had it not been we were stuck for an alternative we would have left.
Ordered tea and scones, ( frozen, so would be served warm...not nice) then carrot cake...( again frozen so would be served warm!!!!) tea cake it was then.
Tea came in horrible stainless steel tea pot with knob missing in top, horrible white thick cups...altogether a very poor experience.
We wouldn’t return or recommend

A small, family owned and run coffee shop and restaurant located on a sharp corner in Howsham, a small village between Brigg and North Kelsey.
Our favourite place for a Sunday morning breakfast with our granddaughters. All four dishes were perfectly cooked, including one special request of a pancake which isn't on the menu. Much appreciated. Friendly service throughout, always a smile on the faces of the people who work here. We'll certainly return, over and over. (By the way, my Full English was beautiful). The bill came to £24 for four breakfasts plus drinks, so excellent value-for-money.

Stopped by as saw was a double rosette!
Showed to a table - waited 15 mins for a drink order - when food arrived the presentation was awful and the pie obviously not homemade - my peas were swimming in water - the sundae was ice cream in a bowl with a mountain of squirt cream and hundreds and thousands - service was poor. Will not be revisiting

Traditional local country Pub serving great food and drink in warm and cosy surroundings. Unique accommodation also available. Come and pay us a visit. Dog and Child friendly if their owners are well behaved!!
Don't be put off by the decorations. The pub looked a little tired but the staff were great, all the food is freshly prepared and cooked to order. The pub was awarded 5 on the scores on the doors hygiene inspection. We went on a Thursday steak night and it was quite busy. We were told there would there would be a 40minute wait and so it turned out, fine when you know. The food was very tasty pub food prepared on site. The star was the chick pea curry, unusually for a pub excellent, it came with a naan and we were offered rice or chips or a selection of both (nice touch) Great food & service will be back again.

A friend had heard that this pub had improved and we thought it was worth a visit. We selected the steak deal and have to say the steaks were cooked perfectly. However the accompanying sauces were insipid and bland. The chips looked as though they had been lying about and re fried -dripping in oil. I've just looked at the photo on the web site and these chips bore no resemblance. I ordered the cheese board which was marked up on the blackboard at £6.95. It was very disappointing three very small pieces of cheese , crackers which were soft . I mentioned to the waitress that I couldn't get my knife through the tiny piece of Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese-she spoke to the chef who said it was supposed to be like that but he could cut me another piece if I wished!!! Gave up in the end. We did leave a generous tip for the service as this was good-although when my husband said the service had been very good-the reply was it should be I've been doing it long enough ( not a good reply from this young lady-a little more humility may go a longer way) . To top it all when we got into the car and looked at the receipt more carefully they had charged us an extra £1 for the "cheese board" . We were too dishearten to go back- we will use our feet to do the talking.

I was really looking forward to my curry as a few of my colleagues said “oh you must try The Gate of India it’s a great restaurant”. I had samosa for a starter and that was nice I lost my concentration and opted for chicken shashlik with aloo gobi and a chapati. Either my taste buds are immune to curries or I’ve finally sussed them out! White sauce means mild like bhuna, browny red sauce means medium and red sauce must mean hot. The dish was definitely lacking delicate flavours it was medium as the sauce was browny red. I could’ve been anywhere in the uk in any number of Indian restaurants. The service was ok but I wouldn’t rush back.

Been here a few times now, always a friendly welcome and today our dog was welcomed too in the Bar. Food has always been freshly cooked and delicious. It has an extensive menu and all portions are VERY genourous. Only ever had dessert once and that was the BEST Raspberry Eton Mess I have ever eaten. The Kings Head has also managed to mix a true English Village Pub and a fine restaurant without impacting on the other - very few places can manage that. Definitely be back

We live nearby and a quick internet search pointed us to the Bull. I booked ahead, wise move, and we were sorted no problem.
We both had fish and chips. The fish was lovely, soft and light and the chips were great.
Puddings, ginger and sticky toffee puddings were our choices. My wife couldn't finish all of hers (I had plenty of room) so they boxed it up for us.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the pub atmosphere didn't take long from opening to become lovely and vibrant.
We really enjoyed our kid free meal tonight. We behaved like proper growed-ups.

Always call for a drink when in Market Rasen, and sometimes have lunch.
This is a traditional pub that serves well-kept beers and lagers, and spirits that are so reasonable priced compared to other places.
The food is always good and is remarkably good value.
Pubs like this are a rare thing these days, friendly, busy and good value.
