Casas do Coro is a small boutique hotel, villas and spa, which were beautifully rebuilt, and with the dedication of Carmen and Paulo Romao, the founders quickly became a reference for housing projects in Portugal. They are simply the ideal place for those wanting to escape from the hustle and bustle of the cities and want to enjoy what this magical place has to offer, excellent gastronomy and wines, with the renowned hospitality Beira and with the beauty of a region largely unknown and much peace! They are simply the ideal place for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of cities and want to enjoy what this magical place has to offer, excellent gastronomy and wines, with the odd host renowned hospitality Beira and like the beauty of a region largely unknown and much peace!Breakfast consists in many of the delicacies produced in the Casas do Coro. The dinner is by appointment of 24 hours. We spent a magical 5 days at Casas do Coro. Our first night we had dinner with the owners, Paulo and Carmen, with creative, fresh cuisine that knocked our socks off (plus lots of fabulous wines produced by their vineyard). One day we enjoyed a "boho picnic" in their vineyard, which was such a relaxing experience with delicious, fresh food that we didn't want it to end. We enjoyed the sauna several times, visited the castle (unbelievably picturesque and photogenic!), visited the nearby Museu do Coa, had lunch at the Casa da Linha Ferrea, made many many memories. We spent over 3 weeks in Portugal and Casas was, if not our favorite place, in the top two or three. I saw the review about the poorly trained staff and have to say that was not our experience, that everyone was super friendly and helpful and we were struck by the high level of English fluency everyone seemed to have. Five stars, highly recommend.

Casas do Cruzeiro is a welcoming and homely house located in the historical village of Marialva. A thoroughly executed restoration has created this enchanting house that exudes comfort, tranquillity and quality. It has a spectacular combination of those original features that typify a traditional ´Beirã´ house.Casas do Cruzeiro, which means, House of the Cruise, is named after an imposing 300 years old cruise perched on a granite rock in front of the house. As soon as you arrive at the house you will be embraced by a delightful atmosphere inviting you to sit in the shade of the olive trees and enjoy the tranquillity of nature.
