6 of us went here on a Saturday night to celebrate an anniversary and what an excellent choice it was there is a wonderful lounge room you can sit in while looking at the menu and selecting your drinks ,this is made up of sofas and arm chairs in lovely surroundings, the menu is explained to you, and we stayed in this room with our drinks until our food was ready and then we were called through to the dining room.
Food was superb and staff were lovely helpful and friendly.

Georges has a long past dating back from the 1860 when it was known as 'The George Inn'. However, following refurbishment it was renamed 'Georges' being more in keeping with its friendly, comfortable and modern character, offering fine ales, fresh food and great entertainment. We have a bar menu for light lunches as well as main meals together with our restaurant menu. We source as much food as possible locally, supporting local businesses and farmers and ensure all food is cooked to a high quality and yet is good value for money. Our Giant homemade Yorkshire puddings are especially popular as well as our sausages and steaks from Spinney Abbey Farm. Live entertainment is provided weekly, including karaoke, acoustic open mic, as well as a variety of live artists to keep you entertained. Georges is a local family business with Nigel taking the lead as Landlord with son Andrew helping all areas. We hope to see you here at Georges soon!
Came here Saturday for lunch with partner, and it was so nice I returned Sunday to treat my mum for lunch (as she’s working Mother’s Day).
Was lovely. They even plated us up one for my hermit brother who doesn’t leave the house. Thank u for lovely meal and great hospitality ladies! Both days were relaxed and quick service..
Oh and the price for a 3 course meal.. £12.95.. for home cooked food!!
What a find!

The pies were lovely but don't have a starter first - it's too much to eat! Hearty food but the decor is a bit old fashioned so whilst good value it's not somewhere we would recommend for its ambience!

Fabulous fish and chips. In our experience the fish has been great quality, skin on the underside, beautiful light batter (or as light as it can be) and cooked on demand. No wilting under lights... Hubby often stops off for a cheeky portion of chips on the way home, he thinks I don't know but I do! Thoroughly recommend.

Visited a half dozen times, usually just for tea or coffee or snacks, cakes etc.
The cafe is well set-out with plenty of outdoor Seating and clearly popular with locals and visitors. It is a little pricey, but against that this is somewhere you could spend some time at going round the centre which has both outdoor and indoor areas. Staff are very pleasant.

Take away with the family and have to say this is the worst food I’ve ever ordered from here.
Noodles were tasteless and the special fried rice included two very small pieces of meat, also plain and bland.
Will not order from here again.
Very disappointed!!!!

Visited today with my family of 5 for my Dad's birthday
Dad and I had the cream of chicken and mushroom in pie in puff pastry with chips and peas.
The pie was home made and the filling was gorgeous
And lots of it. Soft chicken huge slices of mushrooms in a lovely sauce. Genuinely it was the best pie I had ever tasted, nothing frozen or bought in, and I'm fussy.
Mum had the steak and ale pie with puff pastry, tons of meat all very tender huge pile of mash and peas, she thought it was lovely and isn't a very big meat eater, in fact couldn't eat all of it
Hubs had the home made burger and said it was lovely, was very jealous of our pies though.
All this followed by a selection of very nice Deserts, and the service with a smile and a joke every time.
Dad was very chuffed over all ands so we're we
Do go and try it....
Many thanks guys :)
