We're all going back to Winnipeg!") and simultaneously one of the most vibrant cultural centers in Canada is tops in our book. The city's history of isolation and self-sufficiency means that Winnipeggers are unpretentious and sincere (and fun-loving enough to name Homer an honorary citizen). Though the winters are long and cold, there are plenty of indoor activities to both keep you warm and stimulate your imagination.

This quaint bistro occupies the corner of a retro house in an old Winnipeg neighbourhood. Set on a corner lot, the front yard patio is a pleasant setting for dinner on a July evening. The dishes are sharable, colour full, tasteful and nicely served. Nothing corporate here. It's a couples kind of place and you are not embarrassed as a not drinker to ask for ginger ale in stem ware. The staff was attentive but not overbearing. E will definitely go back.

My parents came to visit from Ontario and we decided to take them to mongos to try it out. It was mostly about the experience but the food is always excellent. You essentially go to a buffet bar and pick items you want in your stir fry. You pick meat, vegetables, sauces and spices. The trick is to make a wall out of the frozen meat so you can stack the noodles on top of an already full bowl. So you make whatever you like. You bring it to the counter and they cook it on a large grill for you! Then hand it to you in a bowl. I got mushrooms, water chest nuts, gnocchi, penne and stir fry noodles with teriyaki, sesame oil and garlic salt. I added an egg and cheese. Then I added some teriyaki on top once it was done! My parents liked the experience of watching the food be cooked. It was a bit daunting to figure it out the first time but they were pleased with their meal. One bowl is VERY filling if you do it right so we only typically ever order just one. I recommend mongos. Price is right for what you get and itâs delicious!!

Viva is an unassuming simply decorated Vietnamese jewel. Itâs been feeding Vietnamese food lovers for years. Customers are exceptionally loyal and some return again and again since day one. When I am entertaining visitors, Viva is usually the restaurant I suggest we go to. I have never had a bad dish, trying so many over the years. Family run, itâs to the point with consistently delicious food. The owners are terrific. Servers know the menu inside out. I try to stump them but they know what every menu number is. If you want the best Vietnamese fare in Winnipegâ-do try it!!! No...You must try it!

Enjoyed our lunch here. They have great bento boxes. They come with miso soup. Great quality. Tempura and gyoza were really good as well.

This place is really good. We stayed nearby for an early morning flight and grabbed some dinner here. We were not disappointed. They have quite a selection. A little bit of everything on the menu and we tried many things. The spring rolls were great. The shrimp with 5 spices was great as was the basil chicken. So juicy and tender. We also had the beef soup. A+. Highly recommended.

Thidaâs Thai is arguably among the best Thai food in Winnipeg. It is a casual place with simple decor and authentic food. The menu has a lot of variety and features many authentic Thai dishes including soups, salads, curries, rice and noodle dishes and more. I love their Pad Thai and Red Curry with Tofu, along with the vegetarian deep fried spring rolls. The food always tastes flavourful and delicious! You can choose your level of spiciness from 1-10. I usually choose a 2 and it is very mild. The prices are cheap and fantastic. The service is fast and friendly even when the restaurant is packed and busy, as it usually is. Thidaâs Thai is amazing and is one of my favourite Thai restaurants in Winnipeg.
