Reviews on Mediterranean food in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Any city that can be the butt of a Simpson's joke ("That's it! We're all going back to Winnipeg!") and simultaneously one of the most vibrant cultural centers in Canada is tops in our book. The city's history of isolation and self-sufficiency means that Winnipeggers are unpretentious and sincere (and fun-loving enough to name Homer an honorary citizen). Though the winters are long and cold, there are plenty of indoor activities to both keep you warm and stimulate your imagination.

Picked up a large pepperoni pizza the other day and was it delicious. Lots of good quality mozzarella and great tasting pepperoni. The price is higher then youâll pay at the pizza chain places but itâs well worth it because of the quality ingredients used. I will for sure eat here again.

At Maxime's the warm, inviting atmosphere provides the perfect setting for every occasion. The family still emphasizes freshly prepared classic favorites & engaging hospitality to create a dining experience that is relaxing, enjoyable and most importantly
We recently celebrated my mother's 60th Birthday at Maxime's. We were a party of about 30, and the food and service were excellent. Even though we were a relatively large group, food was served to everyone at the same time, we never had to wait for wine or drink top ups, and the private room we had for the party really made us feel at home. The servers Jen and Paul were very accommodating, answered all of our questions, and really aimed to make it a pleasant experience for everyone. Thank you to Maxime's for making this a memorable event.

Well Iâve read the reviews and it doesnât even seem like the same restaurant we just had fantastic fare in. We were greeted by George like friends. Plus made to feel like we weâre the only ones there, even tho it was very busy for a Monday night. We shared spanakopita, mousakka and lemon potatoes. It came with garlic toast which was yummy and a fresh greek salad. The vegetables on the plate were wonderful - the carrots had been cooked in a broth and were some of the nicest of eaten. We were recommended beverages and I had soda drink with amaretto. Hubby enjoyed his sultana lake of the woods beer. I loved every mouthful of our food. Thanks for a delicious meal. Weâre looking forward to the baklava we bought home for desert!

We stopped in for a family feast and had a very enjoyable time with tons of good food. The service overall was very good despite the fact they were 'hopping' busy. As always, the gyro platters with half and half (Greek salad and fries) were spot on. I love the lemon chicken soup. Full flavour broth with lots of goodies in the soup.Another hit was the Veggie pita platter. The kids disk of chicken souvlaki was a hit as well. The portions are generous and all the food was hot when it hit the table. A great dinning experience

This family run restaurant has been around for years but it was our first visit. Busy place even with the construction on Main Street out front. Order at the counter and pick a table.....very casual. We tried both the chicken shawarma and the donair. Both great and donât be afraid to get the hot sauce as it wasnât over the top. Pastries looked amazing but we were too full to try them. Next time!
