We chose this restaurant based on existing tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed! We reserved a table for a rather quiet Thursday evening and went full out by ordering the 5 course Gourmet menu with accompanying wines. We enjoyed every course in our dinner, and overall had a wonderful time.

This turned out to be a most sympathetic restaurant. It was not so much the serving, done by an older man and a very young girl, both not very talkative, but the whole setting breathed a cosy athmosphere.
The room is modern, yet with much light, coming from big windows, with a nice view to the backside.
We took the 4 course BIB gourmand menue.
Cuisine is classical French. Not any sign of modernism. Thus, deep flavoury dishes and sauces. I found the dark shiny wine sauce that accompagnied the deer fillet very well made.
One letdown though: the croquettes were right out of a industrial deepfrozen bag.
Winelist only French. Prices for anyones purse.
All in all a nice experience.

Our host at B&B La Lisiere suggested this little restaurant as we love gastro food once in a while. It's only open on friday and saturday evening and sundays for lunch. Otherwise a Michelin star would not be out of order. Exquisite delicate food at a fair price, very nice hosts and good wines to be had here :-) Love the fact you can walk to the shelf and see the selection of wines before choosing. Recommendable !

Absolutely wonderful! We do not speak French - 2 employees who speak English immediately came to help us navigate the menu and treated us with utmost warmth and care. The food was outstanding, the beef melts in your mouth like butter - if you can, save room for dessert - you will be greatly rewarded. A truly relaxing and enjoyable meal!

The menu in the ranch is not that big, but what they have tastes great. We were with 7 of us and walked in without reservation which was no problem at all. Almost all of us chose steak and it was delicious. The ranch is a really interesting fun place, the decoration was great. We loved the fireplace, the funny waitor, the real old train in which you can sit to eat, all the animals (especially Lily the babygoat!) and the presence of the beers Belgium has to offer.

We went for the "weekend gastronimique" which included dinner, breakfast and lunch. For dinner as for lunch all dishes were nicely presented and accompagnied with a lovely glass of wine. Flavours during lunch were better than in the evening menu, overall we had some excellent dining.

We found this place by chance on a last minute trip to the Ardennes for a sunny bank holiday weekend. Normally it's closed on Sunday evenings but as it was a holiday they were open, and thank god they were! They are on the banks of the river Ourthe and we ate on the spacious Terrace, a great location. The road is next to the restaurant but wasn't busy enough to disturb the peaceful setting, and the view down the river is lovely.
The menu isn't huge but there is something for everyone, and the wine list offers a large choice. They have a menu option which is very reasonably priced, and judging by the portions we received ordering à la carte, would also be very filling! There was a selection of amuses bouche with the house aperitif including a creme brulee made with Ardennes ham, which was a surprise and very good.
Starters include salmon which is smoked on site in their own fumoir, and home made foie gras, both of which were delicious. Mains are very generous and of a high quality, and include calf sweetbreads, as well as more traditional steak and fish dishes. Local wines are available and again, very fairly priced. Desserts and cheeses are great, and we rounded off our meal with a well prepared and very alcoholic Irish whiskey, which we took indoors as the chill was beginning to set in. Indoors is just as nice as the Terrace, with options on intimate Seating or larger tables for bigger groups, and open fires lending a cosy feel.
Service is very attentive and yet totally unpretentious and very friendly. The final seal of approval for us came when our dog was also welcomed with open arms, both on the Terrace and indoors. Not a bad word to say about this family run restaurant - thoroughly recommended!

We stayd at a bed and breakfast at Wéris and we were recommended La Gargouille. We were warned that the design of the restaurant is Gaudi style and therefore a bit strange. Indeed! but don't let that odd design keep you away from that excellent food, service and drinks!
I experienced La gargouille as a great place to have diner!

Set in a large garden with a tranquil pond and still working water mill, this is a place to eat honest Ardennes food. Ate her with colleagues - two of us had steak with fries, I had the trout with toasted almonds. Not the most refined, but the trout was incredibly fresh. Well worthwhile a stop to eat!
