Find out what European restaurants to try in Bagan. Bagan (Burmese: ပုဂံ; MLCTS: pu.gam, IPA: [bəɡàɴ]; formerly Pagan) is an ancient city located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. From the 9th to 13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Pagan Kingdom, the first kingdom that unified the regions that would later constitute modern Myanmar. During the kingdom's height between the 11th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which the remains of over 2,200 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day.

Freshly cooked good food. Good service and a fair choice on the menu. The street is fairly quiet , but activity to watch.

Good food in a very nice garden setting. Nothing special about the food but if you're looking for somewhere a little more romantic or special it is a lovely place to sit and enjoy. The homemade ice cream for dessert is also very good and was probably the food highlight! Staff are helpful and friendly

Itâs hard to rate places like this. We ordered western dishes, and although they were the best Iâve tried in Myanmar, they still donât come close to an average restaurant back home. Lemonades were delicious. Take into account youâre paying two to three times the amount of the average restaurant in Bagan.Oh and the atmosphere was amazing. Beautifully decorated in a modern Myanmese style. We were there for lunch, and I imagine itâs amazing at nighttime.

{One in new Bagan }and {One in Old Bagan}.Home-cooked, clean, traditional Myanmar food and French bistro fare prepared by local classically-Chef. Lunch and Dinner Highlights include:- Fresh-baked French baguettes & sandwiches- Bagan & Rakhine traditional
We went there in low season and had a lunch, of course, we were warned that the service would be slow but in the end the wait was not too bad and the food, excellent! We had the hot and sour chicken with rice and the mustard pork with potatoes, and a fresh pineapple juice. They brought us their home made bread with butter (it was delicious, we even re-ordered another one). They were attentive by putting a mosquito repellent incense at our table.

Great pizzas baked in a wood oven ! Italian secret ! Difficult to find better !...
After a few weeks travelling in Asia it was a very welcome change. Being curious about a real Pizza in Myanmar we were trying The Pizza 2 Restaurant in Bagan. What a surprise - the pizza was just excellent! Thin pasta base and nice toppings. We felt like beeing in Italy. Bill & Karin, Switzerland

Honestly this is the best service I have had anywhere in the world! Very proffesional and attentive waitress, spoke English and Japanese (we had a mixed group of people) and was so concerned with our experience. The food was very nice and well worth the âextraâ money. Totally recommend this place.

Confort Restaurant is a cosy place near to Shwezigon Pagoda. We are open during all the day for welcoming you and serving you different kind of meal.
This place is a small mom and pops restaurant serving several different types of cuisine. We tried a few dishes and were not impressed at all. In fact it made us immediately question how they attained the top restaurant ranking in Bagan at 5 stars nonetheless. It is evidently a farce. The place isn't terrible. The food is "meh". The location is "meh". The people seemed REALLY nice. But we're the type that would rather have the owner hate us and the food be GREAT than to have GREAT people and forgettable food. So no this place IS NOT 5 stars. IT IS NOT the best restaurant in Bagan. It is simply a "greasy spoon" "hole in the wall" with great staff and ok food. Average at best. I suspect somewhere somehow is fibbing in these reviews and for that and (trusting TA blindly) we wasted a meal.
