An epicenter of eco-tourism, Manado is a popular spot for scuba diving and snorkeling, especially at Bunaken National Park. Heat your vacation up with a trip to one (or all) of the nearby volcanoes, including Lokon Volcano and Klabat Volcano, then kick it up even further with a Manadonese meal. Cakalang a small hide away. A very friendly atmosphere, clean rooms with fresh water. Good food and our own dive center. Dive courses can be done in PADI and Naui
Me and my wife started with the plan to stay only a couple of nights but eventually stayed for a whole week. We loved staying at Cakalang. Very friendly owner and staff. Delicious 3 times a day meals and very relaxed atmosphere. We spend every of our mornings snorkeling (right in front of the resort wonderful snorkeling place with 500m stretch of coral reefs), mid-days "siesta" at the pool and in the afternoon strolling trough the small village for a volcano sunset. We love to come back for some diving and de-stress at Cakalang.

This is an excellent place to stay for diving or snorkelling and you are content to live in basic accommodation ie barrel of water for shower and no sink The couple who own this are exceptionally hospitable and the cooking is excellent but we found the noise in the village in the evening too loud , the lack of air conditioning difficult and there was limited places to go during the day. We’ve rated it 4 as this was our fault for not researching the island more and not theirs We paid booking.com for 3 nights but left after the first night The owner is undertaking an extension which will result in more accommodation and showers

The room was ok. We did not have an ocean view room which made it less special i guess. The breakfast wasnt great. Just bread, noodles, rice and some unknown tomato stew thingy. Didnt say what it was. Really nice view from our breakfast table though!

One of the best budget hotel with a good service in Manado city. It has a clean & comfort room together with friendly & helpful staff. The guest can enjoy the swimming pool facility at Swissbell Hotel Maleosan which is located nearby Maleosan Inn.

1. Room are dusty (im allergy with dust), previous guest stay... The cigarettes bud still under the bed. 2. Door unable to lock for first few days of staying... (End up i fix the door by myself). 3. After few days stay, the lift not working. Now saying that waiting for spare part coming from Jakarta, not sure take how long. (Ex. Fixing door take 2 days... engineer not come also.... but n end up i fixed myself). 4. 7AM morning knocking door asking for IC, which the receptionist forgot to take picture of my IC when check in. 5. Air-con not working well, noisy sound for whole day. 6. Provided pillow are disaster.
