It was raining all day today (Sunday) so we skipped going to this riverside restaurant until dinner time. I was surprised at how small the seating area inside the restaurant is. There are actually 2 seating areas - one outside near the swimming pool and one inside near the bar. We sat inside because of the flies and other bugs outside by the pool. Each table did have a anti-mosquito salve on it, but we did not need it inside the seating area.

The food is wonderful, but this is one of the most expensive restaurants in town. Their full menu is only open for the mid-day meal, and they get a lot of business from UN and Embassy folks and other expats. The manager solicits customers' opinions so she can improve the menu.

Le restaurant est situé à l'intérieur du Parc national du Mali, près du jardin zoologique et du Musée national.
I had lunch here in September with colleagues I was working with from the University of Mali in Bamako. The service as excellent, the food delicious and the location an oasis of peace in the bustling city. I hope to return one day !!!

HAve been ther several times and have always enjoyed it. Teh access road in teh rainy season can be a challenge so make sure you have a 4x4 after heavy rains. Great setting next to the river with a spectacular swimming pool and nice pub. Food has always been good and the evening buffet was great. Nice beef kebabs. Little bit pricey but worth it.

I am a regular customer at Savana. I discovered it 3 years ago, upon a friend's invitation and loved it.Menu is varied, good bar, ambience is chilled out, good background music and the open air space is cosy. Service is dedicated and owners are friendly and present to welcome guests. Security is at high standard level and increased with adequate technical measures following the terrorist atracks in Bamako. As you take your seat, you get some snacks like marinated spicy crudités (this on w/e only) or/and pop corns. Food is very good quality, cooked adequately, prepared with fresh ingredients, taste and well presented. If you are a fish lover like me, you won't go wrong on capitaine'skewers (brochettes de capitaine) and capitaine carpaccio, marinated in olive oil and lemon, served with black olives, capers and sliced tomato (always very fresh). Side dishes are also good and I appreciate the garlic sauté green beans.Pizzas are some of the best in town.Live music plays on Thur and Sat, starting around 10ish pm, if I'm not wrong (you may call to verify this). Overall I always have a very pleasant experience when I eat at Savana, either with friends or solo.Savana also offers take away service and they deliver home - which is a very good option if you can't go, don't feel like cooking, but still fancy a delicious meal home :) Within my fave restaurants in town, Savana is definitely in my top 2.Buon appetito!

Leisurely sitting by the river in Bamako is nice enough, but it's an even better experience if you're savoring an excellent grilled steak. I erred on the cautious side and had it cooked medium, but even so it was juicy and melted in the mouth.

I try to go once every time I am Bamako. For sure it is a point of reference to eat a nice pizza. Always pleasant.

Our bistro is under a large thatch roof with two levels surrounded by plants. There is a large dining room on the top level and a lounge space on the lower level. We currently offer the following services:Weekend Brunch - Saturday and Sunday from 11AM to
Other reviewers have described many of the great selections on the brunch menu -- the eggs benedict with smoked salmon was wonderful served up with a well-mixed mimosa. The open-air setting nestled in greenery is a quiet respite in a busy, dusty city. The service is excellent -- arrive by 11 for weekend brunch to avoid the crowds.

Went there for a business lunch, everything was on point, tasty food and great service. Was at first reluctant to try the beef carpaccio but I have to admit it was pretty good and the other good news is that I didn't get sick from it. I also had grilled captain with chorizo sauce accompanied with ratatouille, it was really tasty. The only thing keeping me from going there more often is definitely the location, too much traffic in the area.
