We had lunch at 1pm - early for PdE - and got the undivided attention of our waitress. Everything we ordered was done according to our expectations. The prices were normal for this city, with the exception of a green salad, valued at 15 USD. I can reccomend it.

Incredible well done barbecue place. Located in downtown Maldonado , this restaurant offers a good experience on how meat is prepared and offered in Uruguay. The place is simple, not fancy. Need to arrived early, otherwise will have to wait for a table. A bit noisy when it is crowded. Very good choice for getting away of glamorous places out of Punta del Este!

The first time, for dinner, we went we were surprised by the quality of their servings (be that meat, rice, dessert). The matambrito de cerdo was just fantastic. Really great service. We returned for lunch, and that just confirmed that this is a great restaurant, with fantastic food and service, and for that quality, not expensive at all. A must in Punta del Este.

Olafâs was a wonderful surprise. After enjoying a marvelous sunset on th beach; we went to Olafâsâ for cocktails and tapas. There was a talented guitarist playing in the corner, the service was fast and friendly, the tapas were beautifully if simply prepared and delicious. Suddenly the skyâs opened up to a torrential downpour; we were cozily ensconced after plastic sheets were secured to protect us from the wind and rain; we stayed and enjoyed until there was a break in the storm feeling very much at home and welcome.

Food is very good and inexpensive, the asado (barbecued beef) is tops (Uruguayan beef is the best), sometimes they have live music (Usually very good, but if you want to talk skip that.) It's family owned and they are very friendly. Pastas are very good also.
