Malaga is one of the oldest cities in the world, founded in the 8th century by the Phoenicians. Today, art is everywhere-- you can experience exhibits dedicated to glass and crystal, classic cars, contemporary installations, and, of course, the works of Picasso, who was born here. Wander past banana trees and beautiful fountains as you walk through Paseo del Parque, then hit the old city to quench your thirst at a Spanish tavern.

I found the hotel on Booking.com and the reviews were all good. I booked and paid for a double room. When I arrived they had put me into a single small room. To upgrade back to my double room with balcony I had to pay an additional €7 per day in cash. This left me feeling I’d been ripped off. That said the staff were friendly the Wi-Fi and shower were well above average . Small but comfortable room

I stayed in this hostal by myself whilst my husband was being treated in Carlos Haya Hospital opposite this hostal . From the time that I made the reservation the staff here were so helpful I was unable to tell them exactly how many days I would need the room for and in fact during his stay I changed the number of days four times , never once did this present a problem My requests were dealt with efficiently and in a friendly and caring manner . The room I was given was big , comfortable and very clean . The hostal was well situated with a bus stop just outside with buses which took you into the centre of the city . I would recommend this hostal and would certainly stay there again .

Welcome to our traditional Andalusian hotel, in the heart of Malaga's historical centre. Located in a small quiet street next to the Cervantes theatre, close to Plaza de la Merced and to the house where Picasso was born, El Riad Andaluz is a unique place in Malaga.
My wife and me went to Malaga for a weekend and this small and cozy hotel was the perfect stay! Super located to Malagas center, you can reach everything within a few minutes walking. Extra tip: use e-scooters to get to the beach in 6-8 minutes. Hotel owner is also nice and uncomplicated.

Very friendly staff, good accomodation and good location. Not far from the centro but not n the middle of it so you don’t have any trouble sleeping. The only thing for me that I would want to change is the pillow. We recommend booking your stay here

Casa de la Merced Suites, is located in a magnificent building dating back to 1868 that has been completely renovated and conditioned to be used as a hotel. Situated next to the beautiful Plaza de la Merced, a place for leisure and recreation and the birthplace of the painter Pablo Picasso, a few metres from the Picasso Museum, 300 m. from the Cathedral of Málaga and Calle Larios and 1 km away from the Malagueta beach.
In the end of April and beginning of May we, a couple, spent altogether 5 nights in Malagas Casa de la Merced Suites. The first part, 27 April to 29 April, had been booked through Booking.com, and the second part, 6 May to 9 May, was booked directly from the hotel. It can be said that the first part of two nights cost us €165, and the second part was much more expensive, with €330 for three nights. The hotel has an outstanding location, very central to bars and restaurants. It is an old building that is now refurbished. It can be a bit noisy at night from the street, which we noticed, as we had a studio facing the street the first two nights. The second time we had a smaller room at a higher price. At the back of the building, near the cleaner's room, and facing the back of a church. You could say the standard of the smaller room didn't match the price. It was much quieter but much darker. The first things that had to be fixed in this second ròom was the electricity, and the curtains. The dark curtains keeping the lights out at night on one of the two windows were missing. Fixed by the kind cleaning lady. She also fixed the missing cloth bands that should keep the curtains apart in the daytime. The table for eating was difficult to sit at, being blocked by an old second fridge placed under the table. Which we ourselves were forced to place in the hallway. Actually, I've seen one review from 12 March, saying it was already there in the room. We were told the second room was for disabled persons, and the shower was big, but with non-functioning sliding doors, not closing. A lot of water runs out after showering. The cleaning was somewhat non-functioning. We were told it could happen only after 3 days, so we had none. There was not even any cleaning tools/brooms for us to use. Generally, the bed mattresses were a little on the soft side. And the second room was definitely a little uncomfortable, with a TV that was turned away from the bed. There was very little storage space, only an open shelf. Well, we paid for a superior apartment and found that for the low comfort, it was a rip-off. We were told there was no other room to get. The free minibar in the reception area was a good thing. But breakfast does not exist in this place. When it comes to the persons working in the hotel, we found the cleaning lady to be very kind. But the reception staff were not so pleasant, or welcoming.

The hotel is not so bad but impossible to sleep after 7. They started hammering and drilling even if it is prohibited to do it before 9. When we complained the girl at the reception was annoyed. The floor was not completely clean, there where hairs all over.

Villa Alicia Guest House is located in a quiet area of Malaga city, within walking distance from its historical centre. The building itself is a good example of what once were the typical houses of the high bourgeoisie of the city in the early 1900s.When converting the house to a hostel, we have tried to maintain its original charm and style respecting its old features as much as possible: great wooden windows, high ceilings, spectacular geometric tiled floors, etc.
Rude/horrible host. Noisy building site opposite.(7.45 am to 6.00pm) which will go on for several years. Breakfast is served after 9am and is chaos. Constant noise from midnight with people either leaving or arriving. Hygiene not high on the list basket of bread knocked onto the floor dust blown off then put back on the table! With all the construction going off (two blocks of apartments being built) not a relaxing place at all.The website photos have been seriously enhanced. Think Basil faulty/ Michael o'leary for the customer care experience! The younger girl who works there occasionally is the polar opposite, very nice, smiles, and chatty. All the years travelling I've had lots of indifferent experiences, and never compelled to write a review, untill this nightmare. I stopped 6nights. The extra star was for the polite young lady.I look forward to mine hostiles response!
