We stayed two nights at this hotel. Checked in around 8:00 pm. The only staff on duty does not speak English. My friend happened to know a little French and managed to check into the hotel. Needless to say, the staff was friendly and tried to communicate with us. The moment we stepped into the hallway, a strong smell gushed into our noses. It could be from the downstairs restaurant or the stale carpet. When I opened the door to my room 209, the room was really stink like smelly sockets. I could have the room changed but I really can't speak French. With the window open and saturation of nose buds, I survived the night. The shower panel door was broken. Had to use the broken door to reduce water splashing to the floor. The push button for the toilet was broken. The hotel is very close the metro station. Convenient to the major attractions. The cleaning staff noticed the smell in the room and kept the window open all day. At lease the room did not smell that bad the second night.

I stayed at the Hotel des Bains for one night while visiting the Paris area. I was disappointed by the lack of parking, especially since the listing I booked through specifically said free parking was available. It was - but it was street parking in a neighborhood, and it was up to the guest to find an available spot. My room was spacious and clean, although the shower was definitely on the small side. There was only one outlet in the room - by the door, halfway up the wall - which isn't very helpful. The breakfast was fine, just some tea or coffee, a croissant, and bit of bread. The location was nice - about 1.5 KM (1 mile) from a metro stop, and it was a wonderful walk to the metro. Only one transfer got me to right downtown Paris next to the Eiffel Tower. The staff did not speak English, which made communication difficult. I had a room at the far back of the building and wi-fi was not very strong - in fact, I had to sit at the door with it propped open to get even a halfway decent signal. Overall, got what I paid for, and would probably stay again due to the value.

We stayed here for three nights and had a room on the 4th floor with shared bathroom/toilet. No elevator, but that was ok for us. More serious is the fact that there is no second fire escape! Rooms, toilet and bathroom are not kept very clean, people smoke on the toilet, which is really bad. Water in bathroom does not run through. Staff is nice, breakfast really nice with fresh croissants and German bröthchen, jams, good coffe etc. Nights are quite (traffic), although it is easy to hear the other guests speak in their rooms. Restaurants are nearby and ok. The beds are made up the old fashioned way with sheets and blankets (no quilts) and they were not cleaned during our three nights stay.

The rooms are equipped with a TV, toiletries and a private bathroom. Free Wi-Fi includes. La Maison Charentonneau also offers other facilities and services, such as a free gym and a private garden. Transfers to the airport or private drivers can also be arranged on request. The continental breakfast is served daily and can be enjoyed in the garden. The hotel is located in the suburbs of Paris, just a 2-minute walk from the metro. A direct line that takes you to Galeries Lafayette in just 30 minutes. The property is only a 6-minute drive from the Parc du Bois de Vincennes and the Paris-Vincennes racecourse.
Amazing service and very friendly staff would recommend to any friend. Thank you. They helped us get in to our place early and they helped us weigh our things for a follow on plane ride, and they were very quick to respond to anything we needed.

I had the shocking experience of staying in Le Grand Albert room 314 on the 28th and 29th May. The box sized room was a pit of dust mites and other bugs. I have bug bites on my face and neck as a consequence. My advice is to avoid at all times. It's a filthy place.

We recently stayed here for our trip to Paris. The pictures on the website are completely different to how the hotel actually is in person. The walls was all dirty, the bathroom had mould over the ceiling, the carpet was no longer a carpet with burns and stains on and was filthy. We also had ants crawling over our table for the “self-catering” it was not the best. All I can give is that the bed was comfy but we both got bit by something we are not sure by what but we got bit on our back, face, arms and hands. The hotel is great for the local metro station and a local supermarket.
