Visiting Freeport for a few days and after a day of outlet shopping wanted a dinner close to our hotel. Their chips for appertizers were good. Dinners were ok. Ordered fried shrimp and disappointed that they were very small but the price was not. Fried scallops were small but tasted ok. Nice bar area. Sat by the windows but not nice scenery. We appreciate your feedback, Ann.We strive to offer our guests quality service and delicious food. However, it's unfortunate that your time with us was anything less than perfect. We'll be addressing your concerns with the appropriate members of our team. We'd love to see you again in the future to share a more positive experience with you.

The menu here is hit or miss. You can get some dishes that are very good and you can get some dishes that you want to throw at the chef. Service is spotty at the bar. The barrel chairs are extraordinarily uncomfortable in the lounge area near the bar, but a real boon to chiropractors. Great view and outdoor seating, but for several summers in a row now, much of the outdoor deck was not open because they said they didnât have enough staff. This place used to be incredible, but now you taking your chances with the food. That said itâs a nice atmosphere, and occasionally you will hit it right with the menu. Overpriced.Hello,My sincere apologies for the missteps in service and the quality of food. We always strive for excellence and appreciate guest feedback as it helps us improve. Consistency is important to us and I'd love the opportunity to talk to you directly for any additional feedback. My direct email is: [email protected] you for your time. First time last time. Little ambiance, there was a large party so service was slow. BS Haddock with lobster sauce was dry and over cooked. Steak tips with Scallops was not good. Steak tips were the size of my thumb. Soup was good. Over priced for poor food regretfully since there are not a lot of good places in the area

We visited the Windham ,Me Gilbert's Chowder House. It has a very rustic look and pub/bar feel versus dining room look. The bar area filled up more than the tables. Wait person was very nice and accommodating. I requested a lower sodium accommodation which they easily did. I had the haddock sandwich which was delicious. The only critique is the size of the fish portion was small and thin (tail end). I requested it baked, not fried and it was done perfectly. Don't know who supplies their sandwich rolls but it was the best I have had, ever! Soft and delicious. The rest of my group had fried fish and chips , also very good, and the burger which I was told had a unusual taste, possibly seasoning. But it was cooked and presented well. I don't think you would be disappointed and we will definitely go again if we are in the area.

After being away from Maine for 9 years I recently spent a 3-day weekend. I stopped by Fishermenâs catch for a lobster roll. OMG. So good! The roll had a generous amount of lobster. Absolutely delicious. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Connected to the Lobster Shack is a seafood store. I used to buy live lobsters here when I lived in Windham.

Great seafood. Newly redecorated with a nice new bar and outdoor seating. Tables in the new addition are limited and sometimes can get a little noisy. Right on 302 it is a very convenient location and there is plenty of parking. Good prices, good food, full bar!
