The Nightingale

We ate there three times in two days. That’s in part because they understand gluten free, in part because they are generous with lobster meat, in part because they have local craft beers on tap, but mostly because the staff are SO FREAKING NICE! New menu daily (at least Friday to Saturday) and yeah, that lamb burger was delicious. That corned beef in the Reuben, though, was not that pinked sliced stuff from the supermarket. Big, thick chunks of real corned beef.

We attended the Turner Farm dinner put on by Nebo Lodge on Friday nights throughout the summer. This really is a magical evening. The setting is spectacular. The food was plentiful and delicious. Wonderful fresh vegetables! The boat ride back was a bit choppy. Wish we could have spent more time there.

Calderwood' reputation is getting around. The other night boatloads of customers came from neighboring islands to dine. It is loud, packed, fun and delicious. The menu has expanded to have non-pizza items. I usually have pulled pork from a local pig. Beer is from the downstairs brewery. Everything is fresh. Long wait for a table. Lovely friendly waitstaff. Relax and enjoy it.
