Things to do in Chiplun
This is a small place but serving ice and ice cream for more than 50 years. They do not use egg or Gelatine in their food products. It is a vegetarian ice cream. Try their Falooda, mango ice cream. But I must say their ice cream made from the jackfruit is a must try.
We stopped here for lunch on our way to Ganpatipule from Mumbai. We'd wanted to eat Maharashtrian food but this seemed to be the only place open for lunch at around 4 PM. We'd Butter Chicken, Chicken Masala, Dal Makhni & Roti. The dishes were OK.You may have to overlook the aspect of hygiene here. Ample parking available.
Situated perfectly on Mumbai-Goa Highway (NH-17) so you don't need to take detour inside Chiplun city. The location is so perfect that travellers in both directions land up at precise lunch hours. The food is simply awesome. They serve authentic local Malwanni food. Servers assist you with what you can try and if the fish is fresh. Their Thali is the best part of the menu; simply delicious and we felt like we are at someone's place and eating that food. Food ordered was local cuisine, fresh and delicious. I would advise if you are on the way and you need a lunch or dinner break, this place is must try.
Best place to relax and enjoy Kokani delicacies.Kokam sharbat, different types of papad and pickles.Mangoes and all seasonal fruits and juices.
Enjoyed the meals here. Good pricing, good service and helpful and courteous staff. Worth a visit and try.
Had read many reviews praising this place on Mumbai- Goa Highway at Chiplun. Visit to this place was deliberately added in the itinerary on way to Ganpatipule from Pune. We had lunch here and found it to be run of the mill eateries spread all along the highway. Highly overrated for reasons beyond my comprehension. Tried fish thali as recommended by many on various travel sites. It was a disappointment. May be food here are cooked in Malvani way which we are not used to.Nothing great and may be skipped.

It simply just doesn't was! If you can understand the meaning of this sentence then you would know what me and my family experienced yesterday night for Christmas dinner. Food was ordinary. Service....hmm....??? 1,200 bucks in a five star resort and you get this?
