We had planned to go shopping at Phoenix mall Vimanagar Pune. We planned to have lunch there so we decided to have Asian food.Malaka Spice was what we decided to try.We had some lovely mocktails followed by a starters, Thai golden fried chicken wings which were very tasty,our next was grilled fish in banana leaf which was very yummy and the sauce served with it was too tasty.Next we had Malaka Kari Kapitan with Roti Canai (which is similar to layered parota) the food was very tasty and with our stomach full we had to forgo the dessert. It's a south Asian cuisine restaurant with a very unique taste. The ambience is amazing. Coriander rice is awesome. Loved the taste of green curry. The staff is very friendly. It is always a conundrum to decide on a fine dining place with an exotic touch to celebrate a special occasion - like a wedding anniversary for example.Gesundheit - We found a place which exactly fit the bill,and to split metaphors,the selection was on the ball.Right from booking the table, seeking our preferences, the nature of the celebration and finally the meal itself orchestrated by the Asst.Manager and his team everything was just perfect. The menu consisted of a mix of Asian flavours - Japanese, Chinese and Oriental - and the three show kitchens turned out chinese woks,dim sums and signature dishes like spicy prawn hargao,lotus root and porkbelly teriyaki. We also tried the prawn and chestnut appetizer,prawn shaoxing ,chicken clay pot accompanied by an appropriate libation.The dim sums are the piece de resistance and koji, which is integral to the process of making sake,is well in use here. It needs no guessing where the name of the restaurant Koji in the Conrad Pune is derived from. The service was impeccable and done with a smile and we were impressed by the bouquet and the chocolate cake courtesy the hotel to commemorate the occasion.We look forward to our next Anniversary!

We love Malaka Spice!. Both delicious.Fish satay was a bit on the salty side and penang curry was super spicy eventhough we requested mild spicy so definitely be attentive to the spice levels when you make a request.The waiter was nice to offer complimentary jaggery ice cream which was delicious.Love coming here. There are several great things about this place, besides itâs very nice ambiance. The outdoor seating is something rare in Pune, even though weâve got the perfect climate for Al Fresco fine dining!
