Good rooms, terrible breakfast
Reviewed By markpturner62Rooms were large and clean, good air conditioning. The place only took cash as none of my several credit cards would work in their machine. Breakfast was a help yourself pile of bread, eggs and margarine with a convenient mini-hob. All in all I would say that this place is OK but not somewhere I would choose to stop again or send anyone that I like to.

Reviewed By johnladbury30Stayed at Atitaya hotel for 3 months here I found time to relax enjoy excellent food. Along with the superb food there is a large selection of cold drinks available from soft drinks,beer and wines. I stayed here to visit many places such as temples local farms,schools and local business. I went to Khon Kaen from here where there is an excellent market I also visited the zoo in Khon Kaen totally different from England animals are well looked and much closer than I have seen before.

Reviewed By JamHamArriving in a city with no idea where to spend the night is always a bit scary. This hotel was recommended by a local friend and it was very nice and affordable. The room was large and clean and wifi and water were good. It was quiet and a good place to park ny body for a night.

Taksila Hotel: fading beauty.
Reviewed By markpturner62We stopped at the Taksila Hotel for 3 nights in 2019, having last stayed there in 2009. The rooms and decor were just the same, but apart from the reception desk the standards had slipped quite a bit. Shockingly rude kratoi on breakfast “welcoming” duty and vastly reduced breakfast choices were just the start. Still a nice hotel, but faded from what it once was.

Good value for your money in a great location
Reviewed By Tobias PThis is the fourth time I stay at this hotel. First time was 6 years ago when the hotel was brand new. This hotel offers real good value for you money and is located in the centre of Maha Sarakham. I've stayed at 2 other hotels in the same price range located in slightly worse locations and those hotels don't even come close to the standard of this hotel. Don't get me wrong, this is not a luxury hotel but having travelled around Thailand for the last 7 years and stayed at many many different hotels ranging from 2 - 5 stars I have to say that this hotel is really good value for money. If you book a VIP room (a little bit bigger room with a couch) breakfast is included in the price. The breakfast is very basic but don't worry, you'll be living in an area packed with nice Thai street food restaurants offering you breakfast/dinner for less than 2 dollars.

Coconut Palms is a small pool resort situated in Kantarawhichai, on the main road to Maha Sarakham from Kalasin and Khon Kaen. It has a stunning 8 x 4.5 metre swimming pool. All the luxury bungalows face the pool and have easy access to the cabana area and gardens. Surrounded by coconut and other palm trees to give the pool natural shade from the sun. The individual bungalows are designed with style and proper European design furniture, comfortable beds, dressing table, wardrobe, fridge, air conditioning, WIFI, satellite TV and fan. The shower and WC area have quality Italian wall and floor tiles with American standard toilet and wash basin compliment the units to enhance the ambiance and style.

Reviewed By 664meljFANTASTIC PLACE! We stayed here over New year with my two teenagers, it was a lovely! The owners are very friendly and helpful and made every effort to ensure we were happy and comfortable. The rooms were very clean and spacious and we had everything we needed, we were there for 4 days and enjoyed the pool area very much with the under cover canopy seating area providing shade in the heat. There is a 7 eleven shop very close by which we used often. The owners made a great breakfast in the morning and were extremely hospitable. They even took us too a great Italian restaurant in the town which was delightful. I could not fault this place and I would love to go back one day.

Quaint and out of the ordinary but needs attention
Reviewed By MrchamThe room was good, the bed a bit hard for me but that’s a small criticism. The water supply to the toilet leaked so had to be turned off unless using it and then it soaked the floor. The electric shower had no electric so no hot water. The restaurant was closed so no breakfast available. Good swimming pool. Park car outside the room. Good air conditioning. Quiet and peaceful.

Excellent service and value
Reviewed By Tim DEverything about this hotel was great right from the telephone call to book. Staff very helpful and extremely pleasant, rooms very clean and good size. Have been staying in Mahasarakham hotels for 25 years and this was the best by far. Will definitely use them again on next visit to this city.
