Mediterranean comfort food drawing inspiration from Spain, France and Italy. We offer shared plates in a cozy, communal dining experience. Please see our website for current menus.
I visited with co-workers while on a business trip. The location and atmosphere were great. The food is high-end, but the restaurant did not feel pretentious. We decided to get a range of dishes and share amongst ourselves. We tried the following dishes:- Dates: Stuffed with chorizo and covered in a chili sauce. They were delicious, a great balance between sweet and spicy.- Meatballs: Very tender, but just a meatball at the end of the day.- Foie Gras Mousse: Not my thing. I have a moral objection to the process of creating foie gras, so this may have colored my opinion.- Parisian Gnocchi: Fantastic! The most tender gnocchi I have ever eaten!- Beets: Beets are not my thing, the pickled carrots were very tasty.- Wagyu Ribeye: The steak was good. I'm not a fan of steak fat so I felt like I was discarding more than I would like at this price point. The lentil and vegetable salad it was served over was wonderful. Great flavor with just the right amount of acid.- Scallops: I could not try them due to allergies, but my colleagues said they were great.- Sicilian Sfingi: Interesting dish. It is an Italian doughnut in a chocolate sauce. The doughnut was dense with a touch of cinnamon flavor and not very sweet, and the chocolate sauce was on the dark side so did not add much sweetness. The overall dish was very rich. The staff was fantastic and knowledgable. Our waiter was more than happy to discuss the menu and make recommendations.

The latest endeavor from Chef Tory Miller, Estrellón, brings Spanish-influenced small plates and tapas to downtown Madison, with the same locally-sourced vision as L'Etoile, Graze, and Sujeo. Expect simplistically beautiful composed dishes, housemade char
Estrellon is an upscale tapas restaurant. It does have commendable ambiance, and many of its small plates are wonderful. Others, not so much. It's hard to predict ahead of time, unfortunately. There is a broad selection of dishes; so, one way to simplify is the chef's "tasting menu" at $90 for two. Half of our party of 4 choice this option. It's primary feature was paella, a truly wonderful dish when done well. Alas, ours was not so well--the bottom was burned and that burned flavor penetrated the whole thing. The class thing to do would have been to pull out the shrimp (which were fine by themselves) and recook the rest rather than serve a second-rate effort.Among the sides ordered by others in our party, the vichyssoise stands out. The wine list is heavy on unfamiliar Spanish labels. They are a risk. We ordered a riojas from the middle of the range of prices. It was okay, but, even adjusting for the usual restaurant markup over retail charges, the wine did not measure up to its price tag.The wait staff is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and charming. As a social occasion, we had a great time, but long-run success, charging top dollar, isn't compatible with avoidable let downs and tepid after dinner coffee.Hi Murphy, Thank you for the feedback, we appreciate it all. I went ahead and sent a private message in response to your comment.Best, Keni

Our concept is to provide One location for Carnivores & Vegan/Vegetarians alike to experience a unique "Latin Inspired" menu
They must have been short staffed as they asked to wait at the bar for 1/2 hour, but it was worth it. The bartender made margaritas from scratch without simple syrup on request. They sat us at a table of our choice and the casual atmosphere overlooked a small outdoor patio area where some dude was doing Yoga poses??? Crazy and it wasn't even sponsored by the bar - lol. People have no sense of spacial awareness or how to act out. Well, it did give me something to write about. The tapas are recommended and the service was great!

The variety of this restaurant was pretty good and the food tasted fair. Some of the dishes were nearly empty & the labeling system was poor. They had homemade signs above the dishes that were in the wrong location. People were moving them around to the proper spot.It think it was too expensive.
