Reviews on European food in Hartbeespoort, Madibeng, North-West Province. Hartbeespoort, informally also known as "Harties", is a small resort town in the North West Province of South Africa, situated on slopes of the Magaliesberg mountain and the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam. The name of the town means "gateway of the hartbees" (a species of antelope) in Afrikaans. It was previously known as Schoemansville, named after General Hendrik Schoeman, a Boer General in the Anglo-Boer War, who owned the farm that the Hartbeespoort Dam was built on.

Our restaurant have a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Our Waffles/Pancakes are made fresh everyday with traditional fillings for you're enjoyment. We avoid food containing additives, colorants and preservatives. All our burgers, prego rolls and sandwiches
I like everything about this place; location, the food and the atmosphere. Its located inside the mall so you can sit and watch the shoppers walk by, fighting the steep hill with their trolleys...its quite entertaining. The burger with crisps was tasty and nothing wrong with the presentation. Both experiences here were pleasant

Terrible food. Ordered the prawn curry and it came as a lukewarm, watery mess. The prawns themselves were shriveled, rubbery and smelt awful. Typical frozen seafood. And at R180, the meal left me very disappointed. My wife was exposed to a similar disaster with her pasta meal. âFreshâ should not be used to describe their food. Also, while we were there the manager and another couple at another table got into a fight regarding the food. STAY AWAY! The other 5 star reviews of this place seem to be BS in my opinion. Plenty of other good restaurants to enjoy in Harties.

The restaurant is intimate and quirky, and offers seating on the balcony with an incredible 180 degree view of the surrounding Magalies Mountains and the Hartbeespoort Dam. The Gin Bar offers a wide variety of local and international gins. The kitchen cre
Stopped over for a Sunday lunch. Food was very good. Ordered a rib-eye steak that was tough but the manager swapped it for the softest fillet Iâve ever had. Service is excellent. Staff were always on hand to help. Only gripe was the smoking allowed on the terrace. You can play whatever music you like from their selection of LPâs! Younger ones you can Google that to see what those were

Which we ordered as a starter. Absolutely excellent!!! We asked for extra bread to soak up the eleft over juices. YummyThe cheese fondue comes with veggies OR bread, be sure to specify which one you want.I had the greatest beer. Dark stout. The eisbine was fabulous. Love this coffee shoppee every time I visit Harties. It has a stunning menu that everything sounds delicious. This time round I had the Eggs Benedict and what a generous helping and tasted yum. The surrounds even kept my son entertained and itâs beautiful for memory photos. And itâs in a great little retail centre. Which I loved and supported the locals

We ate at this restaurant a couple of nights ago. Our waiter was knowledgeable and v friendly. We ordered a seafood platter and Greek salad, both were extremely tasty and can honestly say the best meal we have had in ages. Will definitely return here next time we are in South Africa.

This restaurant is amazing! I took my husband here for our anniversary, and we even had a customised menu! The food was outstanding (well worth the price), and the ambiance was lovely. We sat on the patio and had the restaurant to ourselves, enjoying the wind chimes and beautiful view of the garden.
