Charming Mackinac Island is a throwback to old-timey seaside leisure, from the candy-colored facades of downtown shops to the impressive (record-breaking, in fact) front porch of the Victorian-era Grand Hotel. Mackinac is world-famous for its homemade fudge, available in every flavor you can imagine. Work off your sugar high with a round of golf, a bike ride along a seaside trail, or exploring the limestone bluffs of Mackinac Island State Park.

We are the smallest restaurant on Mackinac at twelve feet wide and forty feet long. We use fresh ingredients and have food delivered everyday. You can watch the cook/owner Don prepare your breakfast or lunch right in front of you.
The wife and I enjoyed a couple of burgers that were cooked to perfection. Seating is very limited in this establishment and you might have to come back and check for seating as there really isn't a place to stand while you wait. Excellent service as well.

We arrived on Mackinac around noon and decided to get something for a picnic lunch. We discovered Doud’s Market at the east end of the main street. The market has a salad bar, a small Chinese buffet, and a variety of pre-made salads and sandwiches. You can also have a specialty sandwich made, which I did. I had the Italian sandwich, which was fabulous. The salad bar was wonderful. We biked around the Island and found a nice place for our picnic. Although the main town was busy, but the further we biked the less crowded it became.

The Cupola Bar is located on the 5th and 6th floors of Grand Hotel with 180 degree views of the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge. Perfect for enjoying the sunset while enjoying a specialty cocktail, serving light bar fare.
I have visited this bar before, but had a free pass. This time brought the husband, did get stopped out front. $20 for both of us to walk the grounds, visit the bar.
3 beers, $25. The top can get very warm, crowded as well. Can't beat the view.

The famous Pink Pony is the Island's foremost entertainment establishment, offering many mouthwatering dining options, a full complement of refreshing beverages and extraordinary live entertainment. Michigan's Most Iconic Bar!
A must visit on Mackinac Island as not only is the food excellent but the character of the restaurant is great! Staff were friendly and helpful even though we were a bigger group. Eggs are a must order if there for breakfast as well!

We wanted to try The Woods for our splurge meal while staying on Mackinac for the week, and it did not disappoint. You will have to take a taxi, unless you are staying at Stonecliffe (or if you can ride your bike wearing dress clothes). Patrons we wearing anything from suitcoats and dresses to dressy jeans and a nice top. The interior is stunning, with very unique colors and decor. I like that the dining room has seating on multiple levels and in a few nooks. You are treated well while at The Woods, from having your napkin placed on your lap for you, to offering a taste of the bottle of wine to see if it meets your expectations. The food quality was superb in the dinners and desserts we ordered (2 orders of Duck, Whitefish, Pecan Ball, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Bean Doughnut). Our wine was delightful, and my husband said the Long Island they made him was the "best he's ever had." We didn't feel rushed at all while eating. You can take a taxi OR pick up the shuttle specifically for The Woods. We didn't wait long after finishing dinner in order to pick up the shuttle back to downtown. Although The Woods is a splurge for us, I do want to eat there again. For the quality of food & service, I feel the prices were not astronomical.

My husband and I had dinner here, and really enjoyed the food. We had French Onion soup, and steaks, it was a nice warm up on a cold rainy day on the Island. The restaurant was really cozy, and we liked the atmosphere, would definitely eat here again. The servers were very fast and friendly as well.

We visited the Hotel Iroquois for our 40th wedding anniversary and dined our first evening at the Carriage House, mostly for the convenience. It was so good that we returned the following evening. It was late in the season, so several menu items were not available, but we got the last servings of lobster tail and it was delish. The lemon meringue pie was spectacular. The view of the waterfront, food and service quality, and historic ambiance all combined for a wonderful experience.

For 37 years, Cawthorne's Village Inn has been a favorite Mackinac Island destination of locals and tourists alike. In fact, it has consistently been voted one of northern Michigans best restaurants! A half block off Main Street, on Hoban Street and straight up from Shepler's Ferry Dock, sits “the VI,” where summer visitors can dine on the outdoor patio and watch a passing parade of horses, carriages, bikes and walkers. Originally opened as the Village Inn in 1981, diners enter below a hanging sign announcing its house specialty, Planked Whitefish, which has garnered international acclaim. We also feature other Great Lakes fish, fresh from waters in and near the straits of Mackinac. Inside, enjoy your favorite sporting event on the indoor televisions and take your chance at Keno and pull tabs. You can also enjoy live musical entertainment on select evenings and seasonal bar specials.
What a enjoyable place to get a great dinner on the island. Waitstaff is topnotch, and very entertaining, our waiter even balanced his full tray of food on his head as he came to our table! The food was excellent very tasty and cooked to...MoreThank you for the favorable review and choosing Cawthorne's Village for dinner while visiting Mackinac Island.

Food was just OK but was priced rather exorbitantly. Wait staff was average. I don’t think I’ll go back to this place because of what they charge for the meals that you can get better choices on the island

This popular Mackinac Island eatery features a celebratory horse theme starring the 1938 true life story of the famous champion thoroughbred, Seabiscuit. The former 1800's bank building was renovated to reveal the original brick walls and hardwood floors transforming it into one of Mackinac Island’s most popular watering holes. A unique and casual menu appropriately fits this cozy café. Seabiscuit fans rave about the deliciously fresh menu options. Discover your new favorite cocktail, the Mamosa. Open 7am until 2am serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and creative cocktails.
We enjoyed a delicious meal that was reasonably priced. The waitress was attentive and efficient. Come early as this little hot spot fills quickly! Our little cafe does fill quickly. With our skilled servers we can turnover a crowd almost as fast as you can flip a coin. Thanks so much for stopping in and for taking the time to leave us a great review.
