I was unsure where to take my partner for Valentines and as we had theatre bookings we were limited with time and most of the places I had called (last minute) were either booked or had a set menu. I explained to a few of restaurants that we had only an hr to eat their fixed 3 course meal and did not want to scoff the food but they did not care... Sorbellos came to the rescue. No fess, A La Carte was available .
Onto our dinner. I decided to try the crab risotto and my partner had gnocchi gusto along with our garlic bread. We also had the special cocktail for V Day
The Good.
The service was great. The food was also extremely good and came out reasonably fast. The gnocchi was light and fluffy and as this was the very first time I have ordered risotto i had nothing to compare it with, but I can say it was tasty and nothing was left in the bowl!
The Bad
We had both left the table for a moment and a staff member cleared the table of our drinks. They brought back what was left in the bottle but what was discarded was never addressed.
The Ugly
The noise level was a bit high so not great for intimate dining, but it does not profess to be... its a family restaurant. Parking in the area is also a bit troublesome as street parking is limiting till midnight in the area
The Verdict - would I go again
Absolutely ! Great honest well made food

The restaurant had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, with a number of families dining there. Service was very friendly and prompt. I had the Cantonese Noodles and they were excellent. Will definitely go again if I’m back in Mackay.Thank you AIGSCJ for your review, it’s our pleasure. We hope to see you again when you come back to Mackay.

This place was recommended so went with a couple of local friends. Lovely ambience within an old church. Tables relatively private and covered with tablecloths. Exceptionally knowledgeable staff on both the food and drinks. Food was exceptional. Drinks were very reasonably priced. A must visit.

Another great night at The Dispensary with dinner (tapas), drinks and live music. I love this place as it's always clean, classy and the staff are always friendly and professional. Prices for tapas range from $8/$10 from memory so it usually works out cheaper if you get a few plates to share across several people. Plus you will get to taste more of their amazing menu!

The restaurant has a restful , adult feel. Tables overlook a beautiful garden and pristine pool. Staff were friendly and efficient, service prompt and average waiting time.
The food however was exceptional. My husband had the soup of the day (roasted capsicum and tomato) served warm with crusty bread and thoroughly enjoyed it. He ordered Atlantic Salmon served with tomato and strawberry salsa. Cooked to his liking and beautifully presented. I had three mushroom ravioli. So good! The garden salad side, fresh crisp and perfect accompaniment to the richness of the ravioli.
I did not pass up on dessert as did my husband and was very very pleased with my raspberry and white chocolate creme brulee ( the toffee topping to die for) served with a pistachio snap.
All in all a very good experience and will definitely return

Great for Steak! Always keep comin back for the lunch rump, always fresh side of chips, side Cesar Salad and creamy peppercorn sauce. I am a coeliac. Went here because we have lived in Malaysia and love the food plus the comments on Trip Advisor strongly suggesting it as being good for gluten free.
We went for dinner. Ordered an entree and main each plus had a drink.
Re gluten free: they were certainly promoting gf and readily indicated the range of dishes that were available gf. Left me a little bemused and wary - gf options included some which normally are in Asian restaurants and omitted some which always are. As the discussion with waitress also left doubts they actually know what gf is, I ordered the main conservatively rather than trying something I would really have liked to.
I went for a seafood laksa: prawns were great but there was not much else other than noodles. At more than $25 this was not good value and 50% higher than I would pay in Brisbane.
I risked it a little with the entree: went for the chicken satays as it is not so common to get gf gluten free peanut sauce with this dish. It was tasty, had no effect upon me but again, for three small skewers, somewhat pricey.
We found the food relatively authentic which is great but prices for dinner exhorbitant. Might be better value for lunch.
We certainly would not go back here for an evening meal.

I ordered 2 pizzas in store at Rural View, I was told my pizzas would take 20mins, no longer than 25mins. After waiting 40mins, I asked why it wasn't ready yet and was told they hadn't even started it and it would be another 30 mins. That's a 1hr 10min wait for 2 pizzas? Never again!
