Small cosy European-style bar a stones throw from Macclesfield railway station, serving coffee, teas, fine wine, world beers but main speciality is local real ale!
Stopped in for. Quiet pint with a friend and the beers are very good, good range and well kept. Have a quiz on Mondays.Thank you for your review - weâre very pleased you enjoyed our beer.Quiz nights are on Sundays but we do have the Stitch & Bitch knitting group and German Conversation Group on Mondays.

Bar meals served from light snacks to full meals every lunchtime only - friendly atmosphere - open from 11 am daily except Sunday from midday - coffee served too.
Always a lovely atmosphere in here. The staff and landlord are very nice and friendly. The locals are great fun - always the same faces in there as you would expect with a good local. There is plenty of seating outside and it always has a good buzz about it. Great place to start your evening and then go on for a meal in the village. Drinks are on the expensive side.

Really impressed by the New Years Eve four course dinner- a lot of effort went into the balance of flavours and presentation of each course. The service was great also. Will definitely be returning.

Visited with family whilst passing through on our narrowboat. Our two dogs were made welcome too. Lovely extensive menu with plenty of choice for our (fussy!) pescatarian daughter too. Good quality food, prompt service, friendly staff. Will visit again if in the area.

Cock & Pheasant in Macclesfield is a country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wine
I went for lunch here today with my sister. What a friendly pub. We asked for a table for two by a window. Our waitress was Hannah. What a brilliant ambassador for the Cock and Pheasant.. What a professional! As an ex-barmaid/waitress myself, I was sooo impressed with her friendliness, attention to customers needs and generally a brilliant personality. Treasure her, this type of person are very rare to find.Mary C, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review! We always strive to provide top quality service to every guest, and are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience here at Cock & Pheasant! Many thanks again Loren and the team

Visited for a birthday. We fancied a nice country pub and the Bulls Head was recommended. We went on a Sunday and most of the party had the roast - good selection of beef, pork, chicken and lamb. I had the beef and it was delicious, but for £15 it should be! Child portions were poor - for £10 my son had one roast potato! There's probably more reasonably priced options in the area.

A recent review took issue with the presence of bones in a lemon sole dish. Yes I know fish have bones, but why leave them in, why not fillet the fish for the convenience of the Customer? And these were no ordinary bones but pieces of spine with side bones like needles. Having to remove a bone from your mouth that had escaped the initial search of the dish is not an enjoyable experience. And a search was necessary because the fish was covered by the rest of the dish. And it was a shame to have this trouble because the dish tasted good. I also felt that our welcome could have been more fulsome. We certainly didn't mind waiting for the 5pm starting gun and it is surely not a crime to register an interest in some nibbles, a request that could easily have been met with a smile.Dear SirAs with my last response the afore mentioned Lemon Sole dish was advertised as being 'Whole Baked'. This would imply that the fish is baked whole and not filleted. As mentioned before if, you the customer, had asked for the fish to be filleted we could have easily done so, thus having no bones.I strongly disagree with the remark regarding your welcome as it was myself that greeted you upon entering my pub, you were given a taster of the local ale, shown to a large table in the window for your part of three, given menus and the point that food started at 5pm was clarified. All seemed good.At 4.50pm you approached the bar to order nibbles to which I merely stated that we did not start food till 5pm. If I appeared to be rude then I apologise, but, was merely reiterating the point that we did not commence food service till 5pm, something that you had been told not 10 minutes previously. There certainly is no starting gun. We regularly take food orders early if the kitchen is ready for service, on the day of your visit we had a very busy lunch service & the kitchen were a little behind getting ready for the evening service hence I could not take your order. We take enormous pride in the product we offer, in both the food and service that we provide every day of the year, this can clearly be seen other reviews on this website and the fact we hold 4.5 star rating on both Google and Facebook. I feel on this occasion we must agree to disagree as I am perfectly satisfied with the level of service you and your party received, as previously mentioned by another member of your party in the last review. So, following the two 2 star reviews that your party of three have posted maybe our establishment is not the one for you. Many ThanksPete the Owner.

Dropped in on a cold day and appreciated the warmth of the real fire. Good selection of beer and reasonably priced food. Pie of the day was huge at £9.95 with chips and veg - excellent.
