I've been twice in the last month, the first time only choosing Anton's because our first choice of cafe was full. Had such good service and value-for-money food that last weekend, with friends visiting, we made Anton's our first choice.
The staff (owners?) are lovely, friendly and will react positively to special requests. A request for a slight alteration to one of the Sandwich fillings was met with a 'no problem' attitude - and a smile.
Have the brie and cranberry Sandwich - you won't be disappointed!

Better late than never !! The NYE banquet and evening was yet again up to the usual standard of excellence..........superb quality food in all of the courses, well prepared and beautifully presented.......delicious ! We were on the later sitting so could enjoy the entertainment and merriment leading up to midnight. Lots of fun, dancing displays by The Zen staff with the entrance of the exotic dragon.....always a good photo. Staff really work hard all evening looking after you, always pleasant, polite and friendly. The whole evening is a delight.....thank you once again.

Novello offers a 5 course tasting menu for only £ 25.00 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and lunch Friday and Saturday. Also a le'carta menu is available. All our food from the breads to the desserts are freshley prepered in the restaurant premises using only the finest seasonal fresh ingredients that are available. The restaurant also stocks an extensive range of fine wines to suit all tastes. Many of our wines are featured in Gambero Rosso in particular the Cervaro,Brunello Antinori and the Solaia.
Only been going there for last six months - all the years earlier when I did not know about Novellos are wasted opportunities. Every time we go the food is fantastically good and the wine matches it. Try the veal - so good. Tony looks...MoreThank you so much for your lovely comments, we’re glad you’ve enjoyed dining with us - hopefully we’ll see you again soon!

Cold, rainy day, visiting Lytham, passed cafe, looked busy so popped in for quick lunch. Place was very busy but very friendly and helpful waitress found us a couple of window seats, bit of a squeeze but OK. Had 2 different soups and very well filled ham sandwiches. Two very good coffees. Was worth popping in.

A great place to go for an evening meal. It can be described as typical Italian type place, lots of talking and plenty of atmosphere. So if you want a quiet evening whispering romantic thoughts, this may not be the place. Service great, food perfect, prices average. All in all a nice place to spend the evening.

This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last. The restaurant is up above the Tesco Express on the main street and easy to miss. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. I had the sweet and sour chicken which was very tasty.

Oliver's is a small friendly family run bistro. By day Oliver's sells a range of lighter meals consisting of jacket potatoes, paninis, pizzas, wraps and home made soup. By night Oliver's has a Bring your own wine policy (£1 Per person) and offers a range of pizza's and pastas with Paella being the in house speciality (this needs to be pre-ordered for a min of 4 people). A selection of starters and home made ice cream and desserts are available to accompany your meal. Booking recommended.
Attentive staff that care whether you leave happy and grateful. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy the sun, the commotion and the traffic and congestion on St Albans road. great tasting coffee too, much better than starbucks etc

First visit and what a fantastic experience. I had a yummy milkshake and cream scone, both were simply delicious and we will be back to experience the other food on offer.
Very friendly service.
There is a nice outside Seating area and they allow dogs inside so what’s not to like!

Very strange, we had to book, it was rammed full of Sunday lunch visitors yet the offering was distinctly poor, over-priced and poor service.
It took an inordinate age to bring our food which was baffling when it arrived unless we were waiting for a batch of vegetables to finish cooking. All of these were fine and plentiful but the roast meat, between us we had the Beef and Pork was dry, tasteless and clearly pre processed as machine carved at a previous time and cooking to the accompanying vegetables.
Add to this a cost of nearly £13 it was not good value at all
